#FiveSibes Flashback ~ "Gibson" ~ May 2015       Ah, to know Gibson was to love him, and laugh. This boy was born a comedian. He was a special soul, my heart dog for always. He always managed to bring a smile - or chuckle - to me! This boy had a huge personality - and it was great. He had a zest for life and truly loved every moment of it. Yes, he had epilepsy, but this boy never let it keep him down, nor did it ever do anything to dampen his joy. Once in a lifetime along comes that more-than-special dog soul, and he was mine. Pictured here, is just one of the many Silly Gibbie moments. I was in my room, organizing my disaster of a walk-in closet. When I came out, there was Gibson all comfy waiting for me...and holding my tossed empty hangers with his big beautiful paw, as if to say, "Here, I'm helping you, Mom."  Yup, G, you still have me laughing. 💜🥰 I hope this fond Flashback brought a smile or chuckle to you, too. Enjoy every small little moment of life. ...

Rainy Days and Muddy Huskies

Image
It has been a very rainy month here (again)! While Siberian Huskies genetically do not like rain, they sure do love digging in the muddy puddles! Our flashback today is from this earlier year, and here's a little fun video of an imaginary conversation between my FiveSibes and me after they had a fun romp, dip, and dig in muddy water-filled craters in our yard! I hope you get a giggle or two from it! “Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning how to dance in the rain.”  ~Vivian Greene Do your dogs love to plain in the rain or mud?   You're Invited to Join Us!   Share your fave pics from Memory Lane from yesteryear or yesterday, grab our badge, link to us, and join in our weekly Flashback Friday Blog Hop! Blue Buffalo Homestyle Recipe Healthy Weight Chicken Dinner Review #ChewyInfuencer

Image
Woooo, come on, Mom, says Chloe. Open up the cans! With the New Year, many of us set a goal to eat better, shed a few pounds, and feel healthier. Well, the same goes for our beloved dogs! Here at FiveSibes, our Siberian Huskies' weight has always been fairly easy to maintain. Except for one--our dear, sweet Chloe. She breaks all the rules. She will eat anything and everything, and she does not have a full switch! She automatically knows when it is dinner time, and for meals and snacks she is always the first one front and center, verbally reminding us exactly what time it is!  Woo! Our Chewy food came! She will also sneak in to clean the others' bowls of any leftovers, and even sometimes sneaks in to eat while they are just to get some more tidbits of food! I have to monitor her food intake as she will have it inhaled before the others' dishes are even set down. Our brand choice of dog food just happens to be Blue Buffalo, although, I have never tried the Homest...

Take-Out on a #FiveSibes Flashback Friday!

Flashback Photo: Autumn 2009 While looking back over photos of my FiveSibes, I came to a favorite (aren't they all?) of mine...and I was amazed that it was from nine years ago already! I remember this day as clear as if  it were yesterday. Time is funny like that, isn't it? I always like opening my kitchen window while using the oven to cool off the house, and always love it when one or all of my FiveSibes pop their head in the window! Sometimes, they even get a treat or two through the window! It always reminds me of a drive-thru window! While I do feature memes on our Merry Meme Monday posts, I could not resist putting words to this photo! Do you have a window your pets love to peek in through? YOU'RE INVITED! Come join in our weekly stroll down Memory Lane in our weekly FiveSibes Flashback Friday Blog Hop! Whether you share a photo of your pet (fave family, vacation, and landscape flashback pics welcome, too) from yesterday or yesteryear, let...

#FiveSibes Merry Meme Monday!

Image
It's Monday, and we're back with our FiveSibes Merry Memes! Periodically, we host a Merry Meme Fun Caption Contest on our FiveSibes: Siberian Husky K9 News & Reviews page, where we feature a fantastic photo submitted by our readers on our social media accounts. Then, after the votes are all in, we turn it into a fun meme for all to share, and we highlight them here on our blog!  Today, we have a double feature! Our most popular contest so far, we had so many votes for the tie-breaker captions, that I am featuring them both! The beautiful star of the photo is "Ruby" the rescued Siberian Husky who is not only a performance dog, but she also is an Epi-dog! As you can see, Ruby does not let having Canine Epilepsy stop her from doing what she loves! You can follow the photographer Aleks HERE. You can follow Arizona Siberian Husky Rescue & Adoption HERE. In this caption, coincidentally another Ruby who is an Epi-dog, weighed in for a caption that c...

Picking a Puffy Pumpkin on a Flashback Friday!

Flashback Photo of Gibson, Autumn 2014 Ohhhh, that face. That sweet face. Gibson's face still melts my heart whenever I see a photo of him. It is hard to believe this is our third Autumn without my big, silly, loving, wooly boy. While Harley is the alpha queen, his true love, and the Pupsters' surrogate momma, Gibson was the glue that held them all together as pack. Where he went, they all followed. If it was chilly, they all huddled around him. If it was hot and he dug a massive hole under our maple tree, they all followed and dug neighboring holes to lay all around him. He was Harley's "hubby" and the Pupsters' big brother. While Huskies are known to be pretty silly, Gibson was the king of making me laugh. And he always seemed to know exactly when a laugh was needed. Even with all his challenges of living with Canine Epilepsy, if he was a human (and at times I believe he thought he was), he would have had a brave smile on his face, making sure everyone ...
