Wrapping Up Christmas, Husky Style!

Image
"Woo. I like this paper." Woo! We love the holidays here at FiveSibes! No matter what we are doing, they love to join in. So it's now time for wrapping and I sure do have some pretty awesome elves, Harley and Bandit, to help me! (Wolf and Chloe decided to settle down for a long winter's nap, instead)! "Are we done yet? Is it treat time?" We are a bunch of foodies here, especially during the holiday season, so when all the wrapping was done for the day (still have lots more to do), my FiveSibes were ready for their treat. So it was a yummy cheeseburger snack for my hungry Husky elves!  "Nommm-nomm! Thanks, Mom!"  Have you had a chance to check out our FiveSibes™#LiveGibStrong  Gift Guide for Epi-Dogs (and all dogs really!)?  We have gathered up a collection of some really cool items for your pup we think you'll love to check out!  Click HERE to view our very special Gift Guide! Wacky Water Dancing on a Hot Autumn Day!

Image
Apparently Mother Nature does not want summer to be over here in the Northeast, with temps in the high 80s and humidity at almost 100, what's a snow dog to do? While washing down the deck, our alpha queen Harley dove right in for some wacky water dancing! When it's hot out, what makes a better partner than a spray of cool water to cha-cha-cha with?! Are you having wacky weather, too?  We are joining the Pet Parade Blog Hop today, hosted by DashKitten , Bionic Basil , and Barking From The Bayou! ***Many thanks to DashKitten for highlighting our blog today  on The Pet Parade!*** Check it out HERE !   Return to FiveSibes Blog Home Page Visit Our FiveSibes Website

It's Time for #FiveSibes Howling Huskies!

Image
It's a "woo-y" Wednesday at FiveSibes! While settling in for some relaxing family TV time last night, the pups decided they wanted the remote to watch something more dog appropriate and voiced their opinion, Siberian Husky style! BOL! (And if you are familiar with the breed, they love to howl and sing)! The interesting thing is our alpha queen Harley is now deaf, but Wolf makes sure he gets real close to her to include her in their songfest. Amazing to watch, and while they are a little out of tune, just as amazing to hear! So turn up the volume, and tell us if your dog joined  in the howlfest, or if your pet even noticed! Hope you enjoy their song! Today we are noisily joining in the Pet Parade Blog Hop hosted by Dash Kitten , Bionic Basil & Barking From the Bayou !  Click For FiveSibes Blog Home Page Click For FiveSibes *New* Website

Flashing Back to Christmas... in July!

Image
While we may be toasty warm in the scorching summer heat...it won't be long before we are trying to stay toasty warm in the snowy cold! I thought since Christmas is just about five months from now, we'd flash back to Christmas 2014, when all the FiveSibes were nestled in their beds, visions of treats dancing in their heads as they waited so peacefully for Santa under the tree! This was the typical scene here each year on Christmas Eve and, while unbeknownst to me at the time, it would be Gibson's last Christmas Day with us for the following year, right before Christmas, he earned his furangel wings. While his absence still stings my heart, I can look at these photos and I'm right back in time, feeling all the love and peace of the holiday season shared with my beloved FiveSibes. I can remember feeling so blessed that these beautiful dogs were sharing life with me and my family. While looking for today's photos, I came across some video footage of this exact night...

Memories of Mom and Her Love of Animals on a Flashback Friday

Image
Mom with her two beloved rescue dogs, her heart dog "Brandy" and his sweetheart "Lady" Last m onth , July 9th, was my beloved Mom's first birthday in Heaven. She would have turned 95. As I spent the day reminiscing of times we spent together, and we had some many wonderful ones, I realized I was on Memory Lane, and what a wonderful Flashback Friday these memories would make. So for today, I'd like to take you all on a stroll back to my role model, inspiration, and hero, my beautiful, amazing mother! When I was young, I spent summer weekends on the shore with my Mom, her mother (my Nanny), my aunt and cousins where we spent hours on the beach, wading in the Atlantic Ocean, and strolling the boardwalk, going on rides and playing games of chance, all under the wonderful caw-caw of the seagulls. So many special times. To this day, the sounds of a roaring ocean and cawing of the gulls is home to me. In later years, one of our favorite things to do w...

A FiveSibes Love Train on a Flashback Friday

Image
One of my fondest memories of my FiveSibes  (and there are so many) is when they  all snuggle up in a pile together in what I refer to as the Sibe train! They have always loved to do this;  such a special family-style bond they have with each other. They still do this, but we sure do miss our big, sweet fluffy boy, Gibson. So for today's stroll down Memory Lane, my Flashback snapshot is one of my FiveSibes Siberian love train with Gib as the locomotive!   Flashback Fridays are brought to you by us - the FiveSibes - and our co-host, Love is being Owned by a Husky, each Friday. We hope you'll find a photo or video from Memory Lane, post it, and link up to our Blog Hop each week! If you don't catch it on Friday, you can link up any time during the week! Flashback Friday: When A Siberian Husky Joins the Family!

Image
Flipping through older photographs for my Flashback Friday series is always fun, and sometimes bittersweet, especially when I come across the furbabies that are no longer here, but always in my heart. This photo made me chuckle. Our old gal, Chelsey, a German Shepherd/Akita mix we adopted as a puppy from our local SPCA, was our family dog for almost 13 years before we brought home our first Siberian Husky puppy, Harley. Harley was (still is at almost 11!) a ball of energy and everything was fair game for a little Husky body slamming! Chelsey's expression in this photo says it all! Lucky for her, we welcomed Gibson soon after this was taken so Harley had a pup to boss, shove, and love, leaving Chelsey to go back to bathing in the sunbeams shining through my daughter's bedroom window as a senior pup should be able to do! “I guess sometimes the greatest memories are made in the most unlikely of places, further proof that spontaneity is more rewarding than a m...
