Together Again for Burgers on a #FlashbackFriday!

Flashback Photo: My full FiveSibes pack family, September 2015

I love this photo, and the memory more! It brings me right back to that moment in time as though it were yesterday. I remember coming home with burgers for my FiveSibes, and even before I stepped outside, those super sniffers knew I had food! Even with all their excitement, they always were a very polite pack and waited patiently for me to give them the chow-down OK! Chloe was the sweetest of the pack, but also the loudest when it came to food and definitely the pack chow hound! Notice she is front and center to that burger! When I took this pic, I loved it immediately because their personalities and love of food really shined through! My dear FiveSibes, together again, even if for just a moment.

So, if life throws you a burger, eat (and enjoy) it!

Labor Day Weekend #FlashbackFriday: Goodbye to Summer Fun

Flashback: Summer 2015 Wolf & Bandit in Their Pool!

Oh, where, oh, where did summer 2020 go? With all the Covid-19 regs, it hardly felt like summer at all with all our favorite places to go either closed or too crowded to even attempt. Summer 2020 sure has been a strange one, and even faster than usual. It was a big summer for us with relocating, helping Wolfie and Bandit adjust to a new place, the coronavirus...so lots of adjustments. All in all, we are all looking forward to Fall! Bring on the crisp, cooler temps, the gorgeous changing colors of the leaves, sweaters and sweatshirts, boots, and everything pumpkin! My two FiveSibes and I are ready! Are you?

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Wrapped Up in Ribbon on #FlashbackFriday

FiveSibes Christmas Flashback 2015

Our dear sweet pupster Chloe. I don't think there could have been a more kinder, sweeter, oblivious Husky! Chloe was a perpetually happy Husky, always talking with her tail always wagging, her eyes always bright, and I swear that girl was always smiling. Of course, I think she believed a treat was always at the end of a greeting, but regardless, Chloe was our pack's sweetheart. She was also the one that  innocently always found herself in mischief or trouble. Always palling around with her brother and sister Wolf and Bandit, she would be the one to get tangled up in something that always left us laughing. Case in point, today's flashback photo...as we were turning around to gather up the ribbons for the tree trimming, this is how we found Chloe! Somehow, she managed to get the curly ribbons twirled all around her. I am writing this with a smile on my face, chuckling at the memory. With feeling sad as this is the first Christmas without her or Harley, it does warm my heart to remember just how silly and sweet that girl was. And when I see the red ribbons on this year's tree, I will always remember that moment with a smile.

"When we recall Christmas past,
we usually find that the simplest things--not the great occasions--give off the greatest
glow of happiness."
 ~Bob Hope

I sure hope our "CoCo Puff" is having fun running in the snow with Harley and Gibson, chasing some red Christmas ribbons north of that Rainbow Bridge. Her sweet innocence, chattiness, and silliness are so very much missed here, and always will be.

FiveSibes #FlashbackFriday Returns! Remembering a House Full of Huskies

Our FiveSibes™Flashback Photo ~ Christmas 2014

We are happy to be back with our #FiveSibes #FlashbackFriday Blog Hop just in start for the howliday and snowy season, to the tune of 18" of the fresh white sparkling powder! This Christmas will truly be a different one...it is the first Christmas without our alpha queen Harley and pupster Chloe.

To suddenly be down to a pack of two is indeed a very strange thing. It's been sad and surreal to go through our daily routine with Wolfie and Bandit and no sister Chloe or "mama" Harley...I still have a hard time without my beloved Gibson, and this month it will be four years he has been celebrating Christmas at the Rainbow Bridge, along with my dear mother.

This card sums up my feelings perfectly.

Now that our Harley and Chloe have joined them, and as you know from my last post and the reason for our blogging break, it has been very difficult to adjust to their passing both for me and for my pupsters Wolf and Bandit. Wolfie still has some severe anxiety attacks, but we are all trying our best. They seem a bit lost without Harley, the matriarch of the FiveSibes. She really was the glue that held the furfamily together. Bandit and Wolfie have come to depend on each other, but they do not cozy up to each other as they all did when there were four and five. They each had their special one to snuggle up to that wound up being a giant fluffy puff of Huskies, but my two remaining pupsters have not yet gelled in that manner. They each prefer to have their own bed--while lying close to each other, just not all snuggled up. I am hoping in time, they will close that gap and become snuggle buddies.

So, to kick off this Christmas season of our weekly FiveSibes #FlashbackFriday, I am paying tribute to the days of old, when this house was full of five furry fantastic Sibes that filled me with so much joy and laughter. Today's comeback Flashback photo dates back to Christmas 2014 as my FiveSibes did their daily evening ritual of bedding down (on beds, chairs, and sofa of their choice) all around the Christmas tree! Talk about making the holidays bright! And that warm holiday feeling will shine on brightly forever in my heart and memories.

I have to say, it feels good to be back in Blogville, my home away from home.

It's #FiveSibes Summertime Pool Party on #FlashbackFriday!

Pool Party! Nothing spells summer here quite like the sound of excitement that occurs when the FiveSibes pools are brought out and filled up with water! Always the first in (even to this very day) is our alpha bathing queen, Harley, while our sweet furangel Chloe would always tip-toe around the pool, preferring to keep her paws dry!

Today's summertime Flashback Friday travels down Memory Lane to eight years ago during the Summer of 2011! All of my FiveSibes were together as one big, happy furry family having a splashing good time in their pools (with a little added water effect to hopefully get you in the mood) for some summertime Sibe soaking fun! Oh, what a wonderful time we all had making such marvelous memories to last the summer...and for a lifetime.

that sounds like a summer to me." ~Unknown

Here's a little summer tune for you from 1958...bet we'll have you humming it all day!

Summertime, Summertime
(Sung by The Jamies,
Written by Thomas Earl Jameson & Sherman Feller)

"Summertime summertime sum sum summertime summertime...

Well we'll go swimmin' every day
No time to work just time to play
If your folks complain just say,
'It's summertime'
And every night we'll have a dance
Cause what's a vacation without romance
Oh man this jive gets me in a trance
Because it's summertime

It's summertime
It's summertime summertime sum sum summertime...
It's summertime"

Props to Harley and All Senior Dogs

With loss, comes not only grief, but reflection. And after losing our pack sweeheart, Chloe, back in June, it has certainly made this summer one of reflection. While as loving pet parents, we all know it is hard to wade through the sad sea, but it is also very comforting to remember the joy and happiness our dogs brought, and bring, to our lives; the very basis of our #FlashbackFriday blog hops.

The Queen reigns over the pool!
This past week has seen some scary signs for our eldest Husky and our beautiful alpha queen, Harley, who is now 14.5 years old. Logically, I know it is wonderful she is 14.5 and am very aware of her shortening path in life, but seeing her face and communicating with her on a whole other level since she went deaf, is something quite miraculous. How she adapted is always a wonder to me. This past week saw her take a pretty big decline, but thankfully, she is still here with us! Her arthritis pain seem to really peak, and she was having a difficult time. I increased her hemp oil*, and I actually began to place "that call" to my vet, but within one day, she turned around and was back to herself. "That call" became a conversation and consultation, and an agreement that we are just going by how Harley feels. We all know "that day" will eventually come, but thankfully, that day is not today.

A happy respite.

So my Flashback Friday is a bit more current, showing age is truly just a number and remembering that I cannot change some things, but I can give unconditional love, comfort, and care.

Here is our Harley enjoying some "pizza bone" time...

Pizza! Pizza!

...and below, and I do so love this clip, of Harley having a happy romp in the pool, one of her favorite summer activities since she was a pup! While only once in a while, and sometimes moving much slower afterward, I love how this almost 15-year-old gal can still kick up some fun like a puppy! May she have many, many more memories to make with us, for however long we are blessed to have her. And if my senior gal she wants to race this senior Hu-mom to the pool, it's on! But their may be a lot of resting after!

Nothing but joy and good Sibe vibes!
