Remembering Wolfie on His Rainbow Bridge Anniversary

Image
" No longer by my side, but forever in my heart." S o hard to believe my baby boy of my FiveSibes ~ "pupster" Wolfgang, a/ka/ Wolfie or Wolf or Baby Boy ~ joined my others north of the Rainbow Bridge four years ago today. He always looked and acted like a puppy, that even at 13.5 years of age, it was hard to tell by looking at him that he was a senior dog. His beautiful fluffy white coat hid any telltale age signs like gray fur. I think maybe that made it even more difficult when it was his time...because he just always looked like my fuzzy blue-eyed puppy.  Wolfie missed his pack family. He wasn't built for life without them. Thankfully, he and my grandson bonded, and us three wrote the book Wolfie, What Is The Rainbow Bridge? while my baby boy was still here with us. Waking up to this beautiful sweet face was always a wonderful routine... Wolfie was my "teenager"...he just loved to sleep in! The holidays are still an emotionally difficult time. I l...

FBF: Remembering Our Bandit Girl, Thief of Hearts on Her Rainbow Bridge Anniversary

Image
FiveSibes #Flashback ~ 2012 ~ Bandit" ready for a hike!  O ur beautiful, crazy, resident "thief" who so fit her moniker, dear Bandit (a/k/a "Bee" and "BandaBear") earned her wings on this date back in 2020. It's so surreal to think this firecracker of a dog has now been gone five years. Time is so strange. All of my memories of her and her wild (and yes, sometimes nutty) Husky shenanigans brings a chuckle to me now. She was the quietest of our FiveSibes, rarely howled, only in unison when the rest of the pack began singing and she was never one to be left out! Always daring to be first and often times would try to assume the alpha role (silly girl), but she was always reminded by Harley that no one was the alpha queen of the FiveSibes pack other than "momma" Harley! Bandit loved to try (unsuccessfully as Harley was always out front) and be first during our pack walks.    Bandit loved to (as her name implied) steal all of the other FiveSi...

Remembering Our Sweet Chatty Pupster, Chloe

Image
"You left your sweet pawprints on our hearts."   ~Dorothy "FiveSibesMom" There wasn't a sweeter dog. This girl, although the chattiest of our FiveSibes, and the loudest of our #Pupsters trio, she was the sweetest, most easy going dog. She loved her meals and treats and would let know - loudly, impatiently, and continuously - that she wanted them, and now! BOL! She would sit like an angel and verbalize her wishes until the dish or treat was given to her! When my first grandchild arrived, she would lay in her dog bed in the living room and watch him play and eventually walk, and drop his yogurt bites!  Chloe with my grandson!   Sadly, that was the first clue when she became suddenly ill. She didn't want any snacks. Then she turned her nose away from food. At first, I thought it was just a tummy bug as they all had from time to time. Plus, she had just had her annual check-up four month prior and all was perfect. So, needless to say, when she stopped eating a...
