Wow! And in the language of Siberian Huskies, "Wooooo!" Today, we mark 11 years of blogging here at FiveSibes! It all began with my beautiful pack of five Siberian Huskies, hence the name FiveSibes - our first and the alpha queen herself, Harley; my sweet wooly Epi-boy Gibson, and our five littermates, the "Pupsters Wolfgang, Chloe, and Bandit! As a career writer, I took the plunge in February of 2010 and posted my very first blog article on Pet Dental Health Month featuring our alph queen, Harley, and her pearly whites! Very First FiveSibes Blog Post!   When I first embarked upon writing this blog and writing about daily life shared with my beloved FiveSibes, as well as all things canine, never did I imagine I would be doing for more than a decade! I also never thought I'd be writing this - our 11th Blogiversary - with only one of my original (OG) pack remaining, my boy Wolfie. While this has been an amazing journey, it is hard to believe that the heydays of FiveSib...

Woo! While every day is Dog Day here at FiveSibes, who are we to argue with a national holiday just for canines, right?  I mean, what dog wouldn't want extra hugs and some special treats, and doesn't that all just go paw-in-paw with it being a holiday?! Today, we are enjoying the "howliday" by just lazing on the shady deck poolside enjoying the beautiful breeze together, which is a real treat since the weather had been so steamy and humid the past month. So this is a real treat!  National Dog Day was created by lifestyle expert and pet advocate to encourage people to Colleen Paige, who also is tops in our books as she also created some other pretty special bark-worthy howlidays, including  National Cat Day, National Puppy Day, National Mutt Day, National Horse Protection Day, National Kids & Pets Day and National Specially-Abled Pets Day, and one I just did an article on for 4Knines, National Beach Day ! We were so thrilled to have won first place in the BlogPaws "Get Fit With Your Pet Month" back in January, so I thought this would be perfect for our Flashback Friday! This is one of my favorite photos I've taken of my FiveSibes having fun in the back yard playing their version of Husky Ball! (Note the tennis ball in Harley's mouth to the far left!) So naturally, I was very proud and pleased it was selected as the first place photo in the BlogPaws Photo Contest! As a result of my photo being chosen - I received a fantastic $75 gift certificate from Pet360 for which we selected a case of the FiveSibes fave dog food and treats from Blue Buffalo! When the box arrived, they excitedly sniffed it and knew full well it was for them! Thanks so much to BlogPaws and Pet 360 !   Today is also our co-host's birthday!
