Some days forever ring out in our hearts. Like today. My beloved heart dog, Gibson, was born on this date. He came into my life as a four-month-old wooly fluff ball, and oh, little did I know of the journey that awaited us, nor how this boy would become my forever heart dog.  How lucky was I to have been his hu-mom!   This year, I'm sharing his 9th birthday party...little did I know then that this was to be the last birthday he would be with me to celebrate. He earned his furangel wings just three weeks shy of his 10th birthday. I know we talk about time, as today's quote says, it does indeed "fly" over us...and so quickly, too quickly. This birthday was 10 years ago...meaning my boy would be 19 today. Of course, he would not still be with me, but isn't it something to...

Today is my beautiful boy Gibson's ninth birthday! Wow! How time flies! I remember that day I first brought him home...a little four-month-old uber-fluffy, dirty, stinky ball of wooly fur with the clown mask, a winky (parti-eye), and who ran more like a cross between a bunny hopping and a horse loping! Everything about him was so endearing! I picked him up and he melted into my arms. It was so hard to put him down to leave and go to the store to buy a crate, a fluffy bed, a collar, leash, toys, bath soap (lots of bath soap - he wreaked off urine), toys, and snacks! It had to be a wonderful homecoming for my puppy boy.  This is the sweet face that stole my heart nine years ago, and still holds it so dear! Each year, I make a birthday video covering  from birth to present day...I'm sad to say that my iMac crashed and I am unable to do so at this time. I'm hoping that it will be up and running and that I can create the video at a later date! But in the meantime, I th...

Today is beautiful Gibson's birthday! It's so hard to believe it was eight years ago in April when Gib joined our family. He was just a happy, silly, big ball of fluff with a squinty parti-eye that made him look like he was winking. He couldn't really run like a regular Husky, he always did a combination of a horse's lope mixed in with a bunny's back end hop ~ and that's how he still runs today! That fluffy wooly puppy grew into a beautiful, amazing, loving, soulful dog...and a best friend to me. He is "an old soul" as our canine behaviorist once pointed out upon meeting him and I agree. When I talk to Gib and look into his beautiful blue eyes, they are knowing. We have a very special unbreakable bond.    Love this split-pic my daughter put together for us! Today is Gibson's 7th Birthday! Such a special day as we celebrate having this sweet, gentle, beautiful boy in our lives! I can't believe it's been seven years since I picked up the four month old wooly fluff ball with the clown shaped eyebrow mask who fell madly in love with our Harley the moment he stepped paws into our house! Even through all the trials of becoming an epileptic at age three, and now his torn cruciate (see full story in this past Friday Flashback blog post ), this boy is a fighter at heart ; a real warrior and I admire and love him so. Gibbie, here's to many, many, many more happy birthdays together! Today began with the wearing of some Birthday gear:  "Seriously, M om, a hat at my age??!! I am 7 after all!"  Baking up so me peanut b utter treats with our  ne w t reat maker...Gib waited pati ently, as  Wolf and Bandit "helped." "Let's get this party started!"   "Woooooo...
