Happy "Sweet 16" Birthday to our Alpha Queen Harley at the Rainbow Bridge

Today is a bittersweet post as it would have been our beautiful alpha queen Harley's Sweet 16 Birthday. Harley was our first Siberian Husky, and the OG of the FiveSibes pack family! She was the inspiration behind my love of the breed, and the reason I fell under the Husky Potato Chip syndrome! (I could not just have one Husky)! Birthdays were also so much fun with my FiveSibes. It's as if they understood that cake and toys were coming! And Harley naturally embraced her princess role! She loved crowns! That's our alpha queen! Our queen wore her crown proudly! Cake time was always a blast! She was the "momma" dog...taking in the three Pupsters as if they were her own. She was the true love of Gibson, smitten since the moment he met her and she rammed him head over fluffy butt into the pool! Woo! It is such a special day here at FiveSibes homestead ~ our beautiful, super smart, sassy, and bossy alpha queen Harley is celebrating her 14th Birthday!  Our FiveSibes alpha queen "Harley Nanuk Mari" It is amazing to me that my daughter, who is married with a family of her own, was just 17 years old when we travelled in the pouring rain to bring THE most beautiful Siberian Husky puppy home! She has always been in love with the breed, and when our rescue Akita/German Shepard Chelsey was in her golden years, we opened our hearts and home to the stunning Husky puppy with such an intense mask, fulfilling not only my daughter's dream, but she would also soon become the leader of the future FiveSibes pack family, who all have added so much joy to my life! While Troy may have Helen, our Harley single-handedly was the gorgeous face that launched the FiveSibes and my love for this amazing breed. Gibson sure knew exactly what he was falling in love with when he jo...

It's so hard to believe that it was eight years ago today we brought the tiny little eight-week old pup with the intense mask and bright blue eyes home! This beautiful sassy little pup - who captured my daughter's heart immediately (ours too) -  grew into a beautiful, super smart, and still sassy adult, and is credited with being the first, and future leader, of the FiveSibes! After Harley became part of our family, we definitely came down with the Siberian Husky Potato Chip Syndrome! At the time, we had a then 13-year-old rescued Akita/German Shepherd, Chelsey, who we had since a pup, and she was sadly starting to get Canine Alzheimer's and arthritis, and pup Harley was just too rambunctious and rough for her, so Hu-Dad suggested getting Harley a play mate...and that's when Gibson joined our family and he has had a mad crush on Harley sinc...
