FBF: Our Wild 'n Playful Alpha Husky Queen

Image
FiveSibes #Flashback ~ "Harley" ~ Circa 2012 Our beautiful, wild, smart, and wonderful alpha queen Harley. It's so hard to believe that this petite girl with a huge personality who loved to roughhouse with Gibson (who she knew was smitten with her), the same amazing Husky who stepped in and became momma to our three pupsters—has now been the Rainbow Bridge for seven years on September 13th. As you can tell from this week's #FBF photo, Harley loved to play—Tug O'War, and especially Fetch! Whether it was a toy, a ball, or a frisbee, she was quite serious about her sport! She could catch on two legs (as in the pic) or all fours! It was always a fun and vigorous game...until it was time for this hu-mom rest. Rest was not in Harley's vocabulary! She would play until the sun set and beyond if she could. She'd make these loud grumbles and huffs while playing, I can still hear her. Oh, what fun we had.  "My dog is not just a pet, he's a source of endless...

FBF: Summer Sibes and Pool Time Vibes!

Image
FiveSibes #Flashback ~ Summer 2011 ~ (l-r): Chloe, Bandit, Gibson, Harley & Wolfie Can you say Husky Pool Party?! It wouldn't be (almost) summer without sharing this special moment! Oh, the excitement that happened when I brought out the FiveSibes' pools and turned on the hose to fill them for some summer fun! Harley was always the first in the water! Oh, the zoomies, splashes, woos, and tapping sounds of their 20 happy paws running across the deck, chasing each other in and out of the water as I was filling up the plastic pools...it all still fills my mind with memories and my heart with joy for how much fun we all had!    🎶 “Sun is shining. Weather is sweet. Make you wanna move your dancing feet.”   🎶 ~Bob Marley   When I close my eyes, I can still hear them and smell the scent of fresh water mixed with Husky fur and summer sun. If only I could bottle that scent! This pic is truly one that represents so many of our summers--days filled with such joy w...

Wolfie, What Is The Rainbow Bridge? Kids' Book Earns Story Monsters® Award for Literary Excellence!

FiveSibes #Flashbacks ~ Wolfie 2021; Wolfie Book 2025   In the words of my FiveSibes, Wooooooo! Why all the excitement? Well, today's #FlashbackFriday is a bit different...yes, I'm highlighting a fond memory photo above...but...we're all excited because my FiveSibes Jr. Tale,  Wolfie, What is the   Rainbow  Bridge?  that I wrote with my young grandson, just received another award! It was selected as a Story Monsters Approved book in the Religious/Spiritual category!   "What makes this book program so unique? KIDS assist our industry experts in judging submissions, so when a book earns the Story Monsters Seal of Approval, it means that children are recommending the book for other children to read, too!" ~Story Monsters®     The most exciting part was presenting my grandson with the Story Monsters' award medal and certificate! And today, he took the book, the award certificate, and his medal to school to show his teachers and to read the bo...

Snow is for Sibe Snow Dogs!

Snowy #FiveSibes Flashback ~ 2017   "Snow flurries began to fall and they swirled around....It was magical, this snow globe world.” ~Sarah Addison Allen    'T is the season for snow! Oh, how my beloved huskies loved snow day, it was in their snow dog DNA. Even before the first flake softly swirled down, it was almost as though they felt it and the excitement would build until I let them out into the yard! I love this pic of my Pupsters Chloe, Wolfgang, and Bee with our alpha queen Harley! We sure missed Gibson (who earned his wings two years before), but on snow days, it always felt so special! And even now, when it snows, I know it's a message from my beloved FiveSibes. Snow will always hold a special place in this FiveSibesMom's heart.   Now, I know not all dogs love the snow like Huskies do with their double coats and snow dog DNA. Even my FiveSibes ( although it took some enticing with snacks and fun indoor things to do ) e...
