How can it be one year ago already that our dear pack sweetheart, Chloe, suddenly left us for the Rainbow Bridge ? Always happy, chatty, and hungry, Chloe was the sweetest dog. She loved to talk, and she loved to eat. When she suddenly stopped both, it was an alarming sign. To think she suddenly succumbed to advanced liver disease that had never even shown a sign in any previous tests, still just blows my mind. The phone call that said, "it's bad" and then the urgently needed vet visit immediately following. How? But if there is any comfort, it is in knowing we were able to let her gently and peacefully make her journey in the familiar, loving surrounding of our home and her siblings and "mama" Harley. Today is the Autumn Equinox, marking the official first day of Fall here in the northern hemisphere of the United States! I have to say, it's my very favorite time of year! The stunning colors and crisp air does much for the mind, spirit, and soul! The cooler temps sure do please the Huskies, too, of course! I mean, northern breed by nature, they love it when the thermometer drops! My FiveSibes have that extra bit of energy and spend less time lounging and more time playing! Today, I'm flashing back a few years to this fun pic of my sweet angel boy, Gibson, who was having a blast rolling in the falling leaves. How I loved his beauty, his playfulness, his zest for life, and oh, that magnificent waterfall tail! There's a whole lotta hopping going on! First up, we are flashing back a few years to one of my favorite memories of my  now furangel Gibson, who was enjoying his rehab walking after a period of time where he was dealing with a weak hind end and a torn CCL due to side effects of his epilepsy medicine. During a rest, he raised his head toward the sunny sky, closed his eyes, and looked so blissful, I just had to snap his photo and pair it with the amazingly true quote. I look at this photo often and smile. Always a champion, Gibson truly enjoyed every minute of life. He was, and will always be, an inspiration to me, and remind me that even during tough times, be sure to take a few minutes to embrace and appreciate this wonderful life we have. Wolf, Siberian Husky Nurse (S.H.N.) on Duty! My boy, Wolfie, (Gibson's little bro) has been living up to his "working breed" classification as he has been a very good furry nurse keeping an eye on me while I recuperate from acute bronchitis. He sleeps right on my feet, and hasn't let me out of his sight!   🐾 🐾 It's (Almost) Wordless Wednesday!     

Today's FiveSibes Flashback Friday photo is of my sweet angel boy, Gibson, from a few years ago. He, like me, loved to go for walks, especially in the crispy Autumn leaves and in the freshly snow! Autumn has always been my very favorite time of year. I recall how Gibson loved to just watch the leaves as they floated down off the trees. I can remember this moment so very clearly as we had just left the house to go for our daily walk, when he paused, sat down next to our pumpkin and scarecrow, and assumed the Husky "watch" position! Oh, how he loved the cool weather and "swimming" in the fallen leaves, with many of them hitching a ride to his wooly fur! Autumn for Gibson was a time when he enjoyed  cooler temperatures and began anticipating the arrival of snow. These sweet memories keep him close in my heart...  for always.   Meet Handsome Max! Stunning Max! Photo Provided. Max is a stunning, well behaved, completely trained senior Siberian Husky who is 10 and currently hails from New Jersey. He is fully vetted and is seeking a loving, forever family! If you live within driving distance of New Jersey, maybe your home could be shared with handsome Max! A shelter volunteer met Max and fell in love with him and is working with Max’s current family to help find the perfect forever home for him. Must Love Walks! Photo Provided. According to Claudia, a volunteer at Heavenly Angels Animal Rescue in New York City, retired sled dog, Max loves long walks or runs (in the snow is a bonus)! He loves to give kisses, is good with other dogs (especially bonds with other male dogs), ignores cats (but is afraid of aggressive ones), and prefers to avoid toddlers. Booooohaaaaaaaaahaaaaawoo! We're in frightfully good spirits and are flashing back three years to 2012 when our Bandit girl was trying to spook us by lying in wait in the glow of the jack o'lanterns! We're also highlighting our Howl-o-ween Pets on Parade video from that same year featuring so many of our fabulous furfriends.
