Happy Flashback Friday! And what a Friday it is! First, we've been away this week as my daughter went into the hospital on Tuesday to be induced, and yesterday gave birth to a happy, healthy boy -  my first grandchild, and the FiveSibes hu-brother! November was Epilepsy Awareness Month, and although it's now in our rear view mirror, and the holidays are fast approaching, let's always keep awareness for dogs with seizures going! Wooo! It's our beautiful alpha queen Harley's 9th Birthday today! It's unbelievable that she was just a little puppy nine years ago! Time sure does fly! Harley is our very first Siberian Husky and she is what started the FiveSibes! My daughter has wanted a Husky ever since she was a young child and when we felt she was ready for the responsibility, she chose little 8-week-old Harley pup to become a part of our family. Harley joined our senior rescue dog, Chelsey, a German Shepherd/Akita mix. But soon her rambunctiousness required a mate that could match her energy: enter Gibson. And it was love at first sight! They have remained inseparable ever since! We call them our resident lovebirds or married couple! Then, when the three Pupsters came along a few years later, Harley was just amazing; she took them under wing and became a wonderful surrogate mother to them.    Woo! Party time! Our Harley's 7th birthday party was a fun time! There were games, and presents, and of course, fresh ice cream from our local dairy!  It's so hard to believe that Harley joined our family as a mere eight week old pupster seven years ago! I still remember our hour-long car ride in the pouring rain with my daughter very excited in the back seat waiting to meet her baby. Someone mentioned to me the other day that they did not realize she was "that old." Hmmmm...better not let our girl hear that! She still has so much energy and loves to play rough, run, give attitude, and body slam as much as she did as a young pup! Our "Queen" and her royal subjects enjoyed her day tremendously and her Royal Huskiness was so happy to share her day with all of you! "Woo...we're 4 today!" Happy Birthday to our Pupsters: Wolf, Chloe, and Bandit! It's so hard to believe the babies are now four years old! But age, after all, is just a number. They sure still act like they are puppies and do everything together and in tandem like they did since the day they came home and my daughter trained them. We used to love the "puppy pile up" where they would just plop down and fall asleep on top of each other after playing. Now, they still sleep near each other; hug each other, run together, and follow each other in tandem to eat or do their business. They are a pretty comical trio and they sure do keep our alpha Harley and boy Gibson busy! Wolf has grown very close to his big brother Gibson (who just celebrated his sixth birthday on January 6th) while Chloe loves to snuggle up against Gib to keep warm when they're outside (of course, she needs to make room for Gibson's true love Harley to be near), and Bandit has become ...
