Peep-A-Boo, Leaves, on a Flashback Friday!

Flashback ~ Bandit ~ Autumn 2017

Our Bandit is the silly dog of our pack! Always one to dig out fun, whether it is a pile of leaves or a pile of snow! She is always down for a good laugh! This Flashback photo was taken several years ago when I was calling the dogs in, and I could not find her! Suddenly, I heard the crunch crinkle of leaves and saw her down in our yard tunneling through the leaves from our maple tree! Our silly girl, Bandit!
AUTUMN WOODS
by James S. Tippett

I like the woods
In autumn
When dry leaves hide the ground,
When the trees are bare
And the wind sweeps by
With a lonesome rushing sound.
I can rustle the leaves
In autumn
And I can make a bed
In the thick dry leaves
That have fallen
From the bare trees
Overhead.

It's Purple Pumpkin Time on #FlashbackFriday!

Flashback ~ Why is Gibson's Pumpkin Purple? ~ October 2014

Six years ago, as part of our #LiveGibStrong K9 Epilepsy Awareness and as a Purple Day® Epilepsy ambassador,  I introduced everyone to  The Purple Pumpkin Project when I posted, "Why is Gibson's Pumpkin Purple?"

It's a great story behind the project, and I hope you'll take a few minutes to watch this short video all about it, and featuring many of our furry friends and their purple pumpkins!

So while you and your family are carving and painting your orange pumpkins, paint one purple and proudly display it! Then, when someone stops and asks, "Why is your pumpkin purple?" You can tell them it's for Epilepsy awareness so that people do not become afraid if they see someone or a dog have a seizure! And...since we are all about Canine Epilepsy Awareness, to tell them all about an amazing Siberian Husky named Gibson, whose silliness and zest for life was magnificent and inspiring, and how he never let Epilepsy interfere with his joy. A great reminder to others that dogs with Canine Epilepsy can enjoy life the same as any other dog! May all Epi-dogs #LiveGibStrong!

Harley, treats are in here!

Treats?! Yes! Let me at that pumpkin!

A Halloween Trick for Wolfie on #FlashbackFriday!

Flashback ~ Halloween 2012 ~ Wolfie

"When witches go riding, and black cats are seen, the moon laughs and whispers, ‘tis near Halloween."~ Author Unknown

Just scaring up a little pre-Howl-o-ween fun with Wolfie! Can you believe it is almost Halloween? 2020 sure has served up different times for us, but one thing is for sure, our memories will never change.

Time flies, as if on a witch's broom...looking back on our Flashback Fridays, I'm always amazed at the years that have gone by...yet the memories are so clear, as if they were just a few years ago. This photo was taken eight years ago! No trick! Pupster Wolfie was just four here, as were his sisters Bandit, and furangel Chloe. I laid the black cat toy down on his bed, and this was his natural reaction, along with his Wolfie whine!

Enjoy those moments.

Take a lot of photos and videos.

One day, those photos and videos will be precious memories you can take out and relive all over again, keeping your dogs forever close in your heart.
