Watching Autumn on a Flashback Friday

Image
Today's FiveSibes Flashback Friday photo is of my sweet angel boy, Gibson, from a few years ago. He, like me, loved to go for walks, especially in the crispy Autumn leaves and in the freshly snow! Autumn has always been my very favorite time of year. I recall how Gibson loved to just watch the leaves as they floated down off the trees. I can remember this moment so very clearly as we had just left the house to go for our daily walk, when he paused, sat down next to our pumpkin and scarecrow, and assumed the Husky "watch" position! Oh, how he loved the cool weather and "swimming" in the fallen leaves, with many of them hitching a ride to his wooly fur! Autumn for Gibson was a time when he enjoyed  cooler temperatures and began anticipating the arrival of snow. These sweet memories keep him close in my heart...  for always. What do you and your pet enjoy the most about Autumn?       The Flashback Friday Blog Hop is brought to you by us -

Thank You to Vet Techs from the FiveSibes!

Image
Woo! We here at FiveSibes l-o-v-e our vet techs at Kingston Animal Hospital ! The loving and amazing care they have always given my pets - the FiveSibes and our kitties Smokie and Binx, goes beyond a job - their care comes from their hearts! As many of you know, my boy Gibson had many special needs stemming from his Canine Epilepsy that required much extra care (laser therapy on his weak hind end, CCL tear healed through Conservative Care Treatment/Management, a suspicious growth removal, and even at the end when he was suddenly stricken with a bleeding spleen and diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma and required IV drip and medication), some of which he required in-home care and treatments as he could not be transported. Our vet techs were right there not only caring for him, but loving him as well. I could not have done all what I did without them and our fabulous vet team. So today, we want to say a huge heartfelt "Thank You" to all of "Gibson's

#LiveGibStrong: Paint Your Pumpkin Purple This Halloween for Epilepsy Awareness

Image
Halloween is right around the corner and here’s our Flashback Friday photo of my boy Gibson with his purple pumpkin. A Purple pumpkin? Pumpkins are orange!  So you may be asking, "Why is Gibson’s pumpkin purple?"  Do you know why? Please Note: This post contains two Amazon affiliate links for my books. This is not a paid post, and all opinions are always my own and from our own experiences. Why is Gibson's Pumpkin Purple? For Canine Epilepsy awareness. As many of  you know, the cause is near and dear to my heart as one of my Siberian Huskies, Gibson, was an Epi-dog (canine epileptic). He was diagnosed with idiopathic Canine Epilepsy in 2009, shortly after his third birthday. It was a very scary time and I felt very alone when he started having seizures. Ever since, I have a been strong advocate of Canine Epilepsy Awareness. Over the years I've written many articles, oodles of blog posts, and two books on the subject, as well

Today is a very special day! It's "Faith" DaBaldo's "Sweet 16" Birthday! This inspirational Siberian Husky I met several years ago and have since become wonderful friends with her mother! We thank our furbabies for introducing us! Isn't it wonderful the people we meet through our dogs? Her hu-mom, Jeanette, helps keep this beauty youthful through a number of alternative therapies including AquaTread, acupuncture, chiropractic treatments and stem cell therapy! Faith loves the snow and spending time with her hu-mom and hu-dad, and sometimes this sweet-faced angel enjoys some Husky zoomies and a can even give a little Husky sass! This sweet girl is an inspiration to pet parents every where!  To read more about Faith's story, check out my article on her in American Pet Magazine's volume 4, issue 2, starting on page 10!  And to hear her hu-mom talk about this amazing dog and her treatments, tune in to my sho
