I feel like when I was photographing him down at his height, we really could connect. On this particular day, I can't recall exactly what caught his attention, but I'm going to guess my grandchildren came running into the yard. After all the others in his FiveSibes pack family had earned their wings, Wolf really missed them. Thankfully, the love of my very young grandchildren brought him out of his grief.  The bond he formed with them, my grandson in particular, brought Wolfie so much much-needed joy. And Wolfie in return, brought so many moments of joy for the kids. My grandson bonded with Wolfie as well as Harley, Chloe, and Bandit from infancy. Our FiveSibes Pupsters! Ahhh, is there anything sweeter than puppy breath? Today, we are fondly flashing back to when our Pupsters, who are now 10, were just little two-month-old pups! The bond they formed as puppies and have kept over the years is just amazing. What a joy to see these siblings always have the love and security of each other, never to be separated! Just hanging out together! We reminisced about the days when my boy Gibson was here and the fun pack family shenanigans that took place, with his talking "I love you!" while doing his famous Gibbie Hip-Hop dance! Harley, Wolf, Chloe, and Bandit munched on treats. Their ortho beds had a nice spring cleaning. And, as you see pictured above, we packed up a bag full of new and very gently used dog toys that we donated to our local shelter to bring a little joy to homeless dogs in our community. "The cold never bothered me anyway." ~Elsa, Snow Queen of Arendelle, Frozen Brrrrr.... so Mother Nature has decided to play a very dirty trick on us! After a typical January of snow and winter temps, came February, when she teased us with some unseasonably warm days. The past several days have been human-heavenly...sunny, lovely spring-like 70°F days, where we joined our FiveSibes in lazily lounging on our deck, dreaming of summer...(well, at least us humans were dreaming of summer. I am sure our Huskies were dreaming of snow)! Then today, we are kicking off March like a lion as we are in the middle of Winter Storm Riley, and apparently a "bombing out" as the weather folks say, for Riley is undergoing a "bombogenesis into a strong Nor'Easter with damaging winds." As I am writing this, I can hear the heavy winds as they are wildly gusting all around our house, eerily moaning out a tune in concert with our outdoor wind chimes that are now spinnin...

Pre-FiveSibes, our family (and daughter's first) furry best friend was an Akita/German  Shepherd mix we adopted from our local SPCA. Or rather, she adopted us! When we saw her, it was love at first sight - for all of us!  My daughter was just five, and this little puppy started following her all over the shelter, right into our hearts and lives! Chelsey and my daughter grew up together, the very best of friends. She was the best trained dog, always listening to her commands, and always, always right by my daughter's side.  "No symphony orchestra ever played music like a (little) girl laughing with a puppy." ~ Bern Williams Chelsey was about 12 when Harley and then Gibson joined our family, and she was able to engage in a few games of fun with them before she started showing symptoms of canine Alzheimer's.
