Pool Party ! Nothing spells summer here quite like the sound of excitement that occurs when the FiveSibes pools are brought out and filled up with water! Always the first in (even to this very day) is our alpha bathing queen, Harley, while our sweet furangel Chloe would always tip-toe around the pool, preferring to keep her paws dry!  Today's summertime Flashback Friday travels down Memory Lane to eight years ago during the Summer of 2011! All of my FiveSibes were together as one big, happy furry family having a splashing good time in their pools (with a little added water effect to hopefully get you in the mood) for some summertime Sibe soaking fun! Harley checks out the new bag of treats! "Treats!" Okay, when we say that magical word, whose dog does NOT come running?!  I think it's my FiveSibes favorite word! They know right away what it means and automatically assume the seated position, with Chloe, of course, being very verbal wanting her yummy snack! Whether it's the shake of the treat container, or the sound of a treat bag being opened, these pups know something delicious is coming!   Wolf sniffs out the biscuits. August has just arrived, and while our FiveSibes family and many other folks are still enjoying the summer time soaking up the sun and splashing in the water, the thought of school is not that far off. Some families are busy with the annual ritual of back-to-school shopping and physicals, and some kids have already started classes! But if you are in areas where September means back-to-school time, this post is for you! While items such as bookbags, notebooks, and pencils are being added to shopping lists, the transition from summer sun to school-time fun could actually be a stressful one for pets. Woo! Today is our beautiful alpha queen Harley's 13th Birthday! Wow! It seems like just yesterday she was a wee pup of 7 weeks old when we drove an hour away in a pouring rain storm to pick up what was our family's first Siberian Husky. My daughter had wanted a Husky pup for a long time, since she was a kid! But I always said when she grew up and knew how to care for a dog, I would get her one. We already had our senior dog, Chelsey, a beautiful German Shepherd and Akita mix we had adopted from our local SPCA when my daughter was very young. They grew up together and were best buds. Once I was confident she could care for her own, we brought Harley into our family. Little did we know then, that flash forward - we would add four more Huskies to our family and they would become the incredible FiveSibes!  Harley has always been the alpha. Woo! Welcome back to our FiveSibes Flashback Friday! It has been some long winter for so many of us. While normally, winter would be a wonderful thing having Siberian Huskies and all, but this year, Mother Nature slammed us with lots of frigid temps and ice, making it not so much fun. Plus, the sick bug has gone around my house several times, and these past few weeks I have been under the weather from my compromised immune system, for which I am currently being detoxed for (not fun). But, having my grandson and the four FiveSibes here keep me amused and happy!  In honor of today's National Pizza Day (and boy, do Harley, Wolf, Chloe, and Bandit love their "pizza bones!"), we had the best pizza we ever (pictured above) homemade by my daughter and son-in-law.  I love Flashback Fridays here at FiveSibes! It gives me that time to pause and look back over photos of the past years and relive some very special moments, although bittersweet at times since my sweet Gibson is no longer with us. But, seeing the photos and reliving those amazing moments truly puts a smile on my face. They were glorious moments, a very special time that will be part of my heart forever. I have been blessed to have these beautiful, loving and incredible dogs as part of my family, and what a wonderful life experience to have!   This photo is especially dear as I loved how my FiveSibes always enjoyed relaxing and snoozing near each other. They would always form what I referred to as the "Husky Train" by sleeping in a row next to each other. If I did not have the beds lined up, they would still position themselves in a row! So, I took their hint and always laid the beds down next to each other, per their instructions...
