A Puppy In A Basket!

Image
"Happiness is a warm puppy." ~Charles M. Schulz Oh, my sweet little baby boy, Wolfie! Flashing back nine years to the spring of 2008, puppy "Wolfgang White Wolf of Mystic Mountain" was welcomed into our home along with his three littermates, sisters Chloe and Bandit, and joining our "originals" Harley and Gibson, the FiveSibes were formed! Pictured here, my little white fuzzy boy went out on our first pet store shopping trip and he loved riding in the cart! He wooed and howled all the way back to the car! To this day, he's my sweet "baby boy!"  You're Invited!   Come Stroll Memory Lane With Us!   Do you have a photo from your pet's past that you'd like to share? Flashback Friday Fondly Looks Back at Gibson's First Wonderful Puppy Days...

Image
With Purple Day® for Epilepsy happening tomorrow, Saturday, March 26, and earlier this week was National Puppy Day, I thought this would be a good day to spotlight my beloved, beautiful furangel, Gibson, as my Flashback Friday feature. Strolling down Memory Lane to 10 years ago...to April of 2006...when I shot this photograph of my big, fluffy, fuzzy, happy wooly Siberian Husky boy at just four months old and on his second day as part of  my family! What a cutie pie! This is one of my favorite first photos of him, and sitting here now, missing him, I can close my eyes and see this moment so clearly. He was so happy, right from the start...and especially after meeting his true love, Harley! (This was taken right after the two of them had a good romp and run around the yard together!) It would be another almost three years before he was to begin his journey on the road called Canine Epilepsy. Through all of his life, Gibson greeted each day with this big, happy beautiful smile o...

He Had Me at "Woo" on Flashback Friday!

Image
Today, my trip down Memory Lane is of my wooly boy, Gibson. Flashing back to April of 2006, when my sweet baby boy was just an adorable, already sweet, four month old puppy, and the second Siberian Husky to join our family! As soon as I saw him and picked him up, I couldn't put him down, and he didn't want me to! He had such captivating, soulful eyes, and I only had eyes for him! We snuggled and slept together on my recliner, with him on my lap (at four months he was already a good size and took up the length of me!) for the whole night. I was SO in love with this boy, a special love that has captured my heart for eternity. It was love at fluffy, wooly first sight! When I saw him come bounding out, doing a puppy version of what was to become his famous Gibbie Hip-Hop dance, I knew my Husky had just chosen me! He was so happy, something he would be always be throughout his too-short life...a very happy Husky! I honestly believe he was born that way! That day when we first me...

Lingering Joys on a Flashback Friday

Image
This is the precious photo of two-year-old big brother Gibson giving a nuzzle to new little sister Chloe when she was just about 10 weeks old! I love this pic so much, you may recognize it...it's my FiveSibes Flashback Friday badge! Gibson was king of the deck when he used to be able to jump up on the bench and then climb onto the top of the log cabin style doghouse we kept out on the deck. He loved his perch so! When the Pupsters came along, they all tried bumping him off his perch, but wound up having to share the space. I'll always fondly remember these days!   All photos & articles © DWR/FiveSibes™ Lingering Joys The tide recedes, but leaves behind bright seashells on the sand. The sun goes down, but gentle warmth  still lingers in the land, The music stops, and yet it echoes on  in sweet refrains . . . For every joy that passes, something  beautiful remains. ~Anonymous Welcome to our weekly blog hop!  ...

A Peek at A Future (Pack) Queen on a Flashback Friday

Image
It seems only fitting that today's Flashback Friday be dedicated to our beautiful alpha queen, Nanuk "Harley" Mari, our first Siberian Husky who kicked off the potato chip syndrome in our family, and who will be celebrating her 10th Birthday on the 10th! Pictured here she was just a mere seven-week-old pup who was a startling beauty right from the start. Her gorgeous blue eyes, intense mask, and vast charm immediately stole our hearts. As soon as my daughter and puppy Harley's eyes met, it was as if she was destined to be in our family. We love you so much, Harley. It's hard to believe it's almost a decade already that you have been ruling our family! Here's to another ten at least! Love you, Momma! "Love at first sight started when we met each other eye to eye, but never ended because we found each other at heart to heart." ~Unknown Flashback Fridays are brought to you by us - the FiveSibes - and our new co-hosts, Love i...

Image
I can't believe today marks our 20th Flashback Friday! Wooo! Today, our feature photograph from down Memory Lane is of our alpha queen and very first Siberian Husky, Harley. It was love at first sight for my daughter and who knew this little cutie with the intense eyes and beautiful mask would grow up to be the ruling alpha queen of a pack family of five Sibes! In this photo, Harley had just joined our family at eight weeks of age...and stole everyone's heart!  "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." ~Anatole France Grab our badge and join in! Flashback Friday #3 : A Queen is Born!

♥ Baby Harley ♥ Today's highlighted Flashback moment is of our alpha queen, Harley, when she was just 8 weeks old! Already, she was a stunning beauty! Ever since she was a young girl, my daughter always wanted a Siberian Husky. I always told her that when I felt she was ready to be a responsible pet parent, she could get her dream puppy. When my daughter was 17, we welcomed gorgeous baby Harley into our family, that already consisted of our elderly German Shepherd/Akita rescue girl, Chelsey, and a dwarf bunny, Sugar...(and unbeknownst to us then, Harley would be the start of our addiction, also known as the Husky "Potato Chip Syndrome!") Now it's your turn! Join us by posting a pic of your furry best friend as a baby, grab our badge & post, link up, and join in the fun trip down Memory Lane by visiting each other's blogs to check out baby pics! What a great way to kick off a weekend!  Have a fabulous Flashback Friday! "Yesterday is but today...
