Pink or Blue..?

Image
On Tuesday , I posted that the gender reveal of my first grandbaby, the FiveSibes hu-sibling, was coming soon! Yesterday, my daughter had her 20-week sonogram and it revealed it was blue all the way! We are so thankful and very excited! We can't wait to meet the little guy and introduce him to the Huskies!  And, of course, we had to have an ice cream cake to celebrate!   Today, we are happily joining in the Thankful Thursday Blop Hop hosted by Pepsi Smart Dog !

Gotta Wear Shades! It's #NationalSunglassesDay!

Image
According to The Vision Council, National Sunglasses Day is, "a reminder that our shades are a health necessity and it is important to wear sunglasses or other UV-protective eyewear every day to protect long-term eye health." So, while we are keeping our beloved canines safe, healthy, and happy, let's not forget about ourselves! To keep our furry best friends in tip-top shape, we need to be, too! And what about sunglasses or goggles for dogs? While they may not need sunglasses as we do, there are doggie sunglasses, a/k/a dog goggles, and there are times when it is important for them to wear them, especially when they are in a car, truck, or boat with their faces to the speeding breezes to protect their eyes from the wind, as well as any harmful dust, debris, and UV rays. Just check out our boy Wolf rockin' his doggie goggles (and safety jacket) before a boat ride! Some dogs may also have eye health issues and require wearing  them more often. Not sure if y

Father's Day Spa Day!

Image
Tub time for Wolf! Happy Father's Day to all Dads of human children and furkids! We hope your day is very special! Here at FiveSibes, the Huskies not only celebrated the day with their super (p)awesome Hu-Dad with some ice cream cake, but it was also "Spa Day" here! Our groomer came to our house, and with the assistance of my son-in-law, gave our pups a good  blow out, brushing, and bath just in time for summer! Our yard sure looked as if we had some sudden snow "furries!" A few birds even swooped down while the Huskies were being blown out and snatched up some of the precious Husky fur for their nests! Now those will be some very comfy and warm nests for their babies for sure! Following their spa treatment, they snoozed inside in the cool house for a bit before joining the family for some delicious dairy-fresh vanilla ice cream! Here's a photo essay highlighting their day!   Wolf enjoyed the blow out! Bye-bye undercoat!   H

A Chat With Gibson Marks 6-Month Anniversary

Image
A chat with Gibson. ( Video may not play on mobile devices ). Today marks the six-month anniversary of the day that my sweet big wooly boy, Gibson, journeyed North of the Rainbow Bridge. I so miss him. I loved and miss all of our wonderful "conversations," how he would say, "Love You!" and the stomping of his big polar bear paw for emphasis! The above video clip is bittersweet - bitter, of course, because he is no longer physically here, but oh-so-sweet because the memory brings a smile to my face and just floods me with joy as I remember all the wonderful days like this one. With all the challenges he faced being an Epi-dog, he was beautiful, brave, so very silly, and just the happiest Husky! He was, and always will be, my inspiration to push on during the hard times, lay back and enjoy the good times, and always greet each day with a big smile, just like he did. Six months. Half a year. So very hard to believe. “The strangeness of Time.

A FiveSibes Love Train on a Flashback Friday

Image
One of my fondest memories of my FiveSibes  (and there are so many) is when they  all snuggle up in a pile together in what I refer to as the Sibe train! They have always loved to do this;  such a special family-style bond they have with each other. They still do this, but we sure do miss our big, sweet fluffy boy, Gibson. So for today's stroll down Memory Lane, my Flashback snapshot is one of my FiveSibes Siberian love train with Gib as the locomotive!   Flashback Fridays are brought to you by us - the FiveSibes - and our co-host, Love is being Owned by a Husky, each Friday. We hope you'll find a photo or video from Memory Lane, post it, and link up to our Blog Hop each week! If you don't catch it on Friday, you can link up any time during the week! To catch our past Flashbacks, just enter "Flashback Friday" in the search box.  Come join us! We'd love to see your pets' Flashback pics! Just grab our badge below:
