Happy Birthday, USA!

Woooo! Today is Independence Day - America's Birthday - and on the Fourth of July we enjoy so many traditions, such as parades, barbeques, picnics, yard games, swimming, and watching brilliant fireworks' displays. Today symbolizes an unofficial official start to summer time and fun time! Along with the holiday, comes some cautions for our pets. Topping the list is fireworks. While we may enjoy them, a lot of pets do not. They can cause fright, anxiety, and stress for many animals. Then, of course, there is lots of delicious human food around, but not everything we eat is safe for our pets to eat. Here's Wolf with a few friendly tips to help everyone in our families - pets and humans - have a safe, happy, and fun Fourth of July: A nother good thing to keep handy is your emergency vet hospital telephone number, or if you are away, the number of the nearest emergency clinic. And don't forget to leave it posted at home for your pup sitter's information. ...

Happy Birthday, America!

Woo! It is the Fourth of July! And Harley and the FiveSibes are looking forward to enjoying some BBQ treats!  In honor of this day, we would like to celebrate our country's birthday by sharing this video we created last year that features so many of our furpals from across America! So go get an ice cream cone or two (vanilla please, and don't forget to share with your furpals!), wave some American flags, and enjoy these beautiful "Patriotic Pets on Parade!" While you are enjoying all of the festivities, please be sure to keep our pets safe! While the fireworks displays are beautiful, many pets do not enjoy them. It is also a time of family parties and BBQs and also a time when many pets can get loose and run away. In this month's issue of American Pet Magazine , if you flip to page 5, I have an article Honoring & Calming Pets During Summer's Patriotic Holidays , with some tips on keep our furkids safe during these patriotic holidays. Here's a glim...

Merry Christmas...in July!

Merry Christmas in July from Gibson and the FiveSibes! Yes, we just experienced one of the worst heat waves ever, and I'm talking about Christmas! Well, before you think I was out in the blazing hot sun for too long, Christmas is exactly five months from today! So to celebrate (and think snow), I'm posting this pic to remind us all that it's not really that far away! So Huskies and furpals, start making up that Christmas wish list! And while we're at it, let's all be sure to list "donations for a rescue/shelter" - and it does not have to be money, it can be scheduling some time to foster a dog or help out at a shelter, mending and donating some blankets and toys, donating some food or treats, etc. The furpals will certainly be more jolly...and we'll naturally feel better for helping too! And the best part? We don't have to wait for December to do it! Why not drop by a local shelter today, or this week, and bring some cheer to homeless animals ne...
