A Heavenly Birthday on a #FlashbackFriday

Image
#Flashback ~ Hu-Nanny & Gibson ~ 2014    Today's #FiveSibes #FlashbackFriday is a very special one. Tomorrow is the birthday of my dear Mom, the #FiveSibes Hu-Nanny. I so love this photo I captured of my mother getting a kiss from my beloved heart dog, Gibson. She and Gibson passed away almost one month to the date apart from each other in 2015, with my mother journeying to Heaven first. I always like to think that my big fluffy boy, who was always by my side and and in tune with me more than any dog ever was, earned his furangel wings right after Mom passed so he could get to Heaven quickly to keep my Mom company. Knowing my boy the way I did, I know he did that for me. Sending my beloved mother loving Happy Birthday wishes in Heaven.   Gibson, my dear boy and my forever furry best friend, please give her one of those famous Gibbie kisses of yours. I know that will make her smile. You are both missed so very much each and every day.     "When tomorr...

Thanksgiving Wishes to All, Feeling Grateful, and #LiveGibStrong Epi-Tips

Image
We're "Not-Quite-Wordless" Wednesday here today. I want to take this opportunity, on the Eve of Thanksgiving, a day of gratitude, to thank you all again for your kind words, prayers, and support as my family grieves the loss of my amazing Mom, the FiveSibes Hu-Nanny. I have been blessed to have had such a wonderful mother and role model in my life. For her, I am so grateful.  There is such a void in our lives, and the first of the holidays is upon us and my daughter and I are struggling to find a new "normal" without her, our "third Muskateer." I just can't imagine it. But, Mom would want us to count our blessings, and we are so blessed to have our family, furkids, friends, and all of our FiveSibes pals in our lives. For that, I am grateful. Tonight's Thanksgiving Full "Beaver" Moon What a wonderful and compassionate community this truly is and I'm proud to be part of it. All of us here at FiveSibes wish each and eve...

Fond FiveSibes Flashback Friday Moments With Hu-Nanny

Image
For today's Flashback Friday, I thought it fitting to highlight past photos of my FiveSibes with my mom, their Hu-Nanny, who, as most of you know from previous posts, is currently in a rehab facility after her recent fall and illness. We are taking things day by day, and her spirit is amazing, even in the face of some steep uphill battles. Dogs have always brought such joy to her life, the many of her own over the years, and she always loved visits from my FiveSibes, since puppyhood! Here's a collage of Hu-Nanny with (clockwise from top): puppy Harley from 10 years ago, puppy Gibson from 9 years ago, with Bandit from thee years ago, with Wolf from two years ago, and sharing a candy cane with an 11-month old Chloe from Christmas 2008! "True love is when you touch someone with your spirit, and in return they touch your soul with their heart." ~Unknown Author Flashback Fridays are brought to you by us - the FiveSibes - and our co-host, Love is being ...

Hu-Nanny Hospital Update: Meeting Mia the Therapy Dog

Image
As many of you know, my Mom, the ‪#‎ FiveSibes‬ Hu-Nanny, has been hospitalized. I want to personally thank everyone for all the lovely and caring prayers, comments, notes, Emails, and Tweets. They mean so much to us. Yesterday was a rough day for Hu-Nanny, but a highlight was when she met "Mia," this very pretty Therapy Dog! Mia, a Standard Poodle, connected with my Mom and even gave her hand a kiss! She encouraged Mom to sit up for a few minutes, even when she did not feel well. Mom talked and reminisced about all three of her past Poodle babies - Misty, Princie, and Joy. So important since she is experiencing some confusion. It was a wonderful visit from Mia - and to see the positive effects of a Therapy Dog firsthand was just heartwarming. ‪‎

Happy Birthday, Hu-Nanny!

Wooo! Today is a very special day...it's the FiveSibes Hu-Nanny's 93rd Birthday! Her love of dogs and all animals comes directly from the heart and one of the many important life lessons she taught me as a child ~ to be good to animals, be their voice, and welcome them into your home with love and open arms, making their care and needs a top priority. Just one of the many reasons she is loved so much! Heart In My Hands   If you said you were cold. I would wrap my arms around you. If you said you were thirsty I would give you the ocean blue. I would give you anything the moon, the stars, the sunset too. This heart in my hands I hold out to you. ~ by Katiynd Jenkins
