Rainy Days and Muddy Huskies



It has been a very rainy month here (again)! While Siberian Huskies genetically do not like rain, they sure do love digging in the muddy puddles! Our flashback today is from this earlier year, and here's a little fun video of an imaginary conversation between my FiveSibes and me after they had a fun romp, dip, and dig in muddy water-filled craters in our yard! I hope you get a giggle or two from it!

    Dogs never miss an opportunity to get muddy! LOL It has been really rainy here in Michigan too. Lots of flooding going on. It seems like dogs around here are enjoying their opportunity to get dirty too.

    LOL aww I didn't realize that Huskies are not fond of rain. But I totally believe they don't mind playing in the mud...just like biped kids! LOL

    Haha Alaskan Klee Kai must have inherited that from their husky brethren because my little guy LOVES playing in the mud. After it rains the first thing he wants to do is go outside and play in all the mud puddles.

    We all love the mud too, although for some reason we like it better when it is colder outside. Mom is having our fence line landscaped with a bed of rock to try to get rid of our "track". She is hoping we don't just move the track back a few feet.

    That video made me laugh. Your dogs are so cute, clean or muddy! I used to have a dog who loved the mud and dirt. The ones I have now aren't fans of rain or mud, or even dirt.

    Look at that sweet muddy face! ha ha, loved the picture! That is funny because dachshunds are 'genetically' against rainy days as well. Not sure about the mud puddles though..Loved the video, thanks for sharing!

    That is a lot of mud. I love how it looks like it was intentionally painted on around the muzzle and a few brush strokes across the eyebrow. Designer mud!

#PrayersForHarley - Dewclaw Tumor

Dewclaws. Such an unnecessary evil for a dog. In August, I noticed Harley limping. At 11-and-a-half, she is a bit stiff-legged at times from arthritis, but this was a more pronounced limp and she was having an extra tough time sitting down. She seemed very uncomfortable. She was also becoming a bit snarley, especially when I was touching her paw, which is something that never typically bothers her. Upon further checking, I noticed an odd lump around her dewclaw on her right leg, thinking it was possibly a pulled dewclaw, maybe a splinter, thistle, or even a bee sting , she became extremely agitated when I touched it.    (Warning: some photos may be somewhat graphic, but I am sharing for educational purposes).   Oddity beneath the dew claw.   Off to the vet we went. The Rainbow Bridge Welcomes A New FurAngel - Buddy, the Christmas Husky - A Forever Symbol of Hope for Rescued Dogs

My beloved Gibson is there. As is my Chelsey, Sandy, kitty Smokie, bunny Sunny, my fox Ah, many horses, and so many others pets. We have many furfriends who have also crossed The Rainbow Bridge. All of these beloved animals are there...so healthy and happy, with all the dogs enjoying their zoomies and playing Fetch all day in a land that is eternally beautiful. Sounds perfect. Only catch is when our devoted companions are there, we can no longer physically be with them. So while they are in a place where the spirit soars, our hearts are broken as we are missing them here with us. Fit For Our #FiveSibes Alpha Queen: Celebrating Harley's 14½ Birthday

Born on March 10, 2005, our beautiful alpha queen, pupster surrogate momma, and my daughter's and our first Siberian Husky,  turns 14½ today! You may be wondering why are we celebrating her half birthday? Because, as heartbreaking as it is, we now know she will not be here in March to celebrate her 15th Birthday as I once had hoped. Heartfelt thanks to Ann at Zoolatry for this beautiful badge. Thank you all who are sharing it and joining paws for our girl.
