FiveSibes Flashback ~ Gibson ~ 2015 Pictured here is my beloved Gibson and I celebrating my birthday in 2015. My cake was a wonderful surprise from my family that had Gibson's gorgeous face on it! It was so lovely that I didn't want to cut it! (But we did. My family couldn't wait to dig into the cake. Me, I was trying to figure out how to save the top. BOL! Now, if you recall, I'm also the one who shellacked the five fondant Huskies on a previous cake! And yup, I sure do still have them! But, I'll share that photo another time. Here, my Gibbie was giving the cake a little taste test, before all FiveSibes had a bit of that whipped cream! This was to become one of those uber special moments I was so happy to have had my family capture on film. And, unbeknownst to me at the time, this would be the last birthday of mine that Gibson was here to celebrate for he passed just a few months later.   February 23, 2010 - the date that I launched this blog with a post on Pet Dental Health. Now, here I am celebrating 13 years of blogging! Wow! In some ways, it seems incredible that I've been writing this FiveSibes™ blog for that long, and in other ways, it feels like it was only yesterday.  So much has happened over the past baker's dozen of years--from talking about our every day lives to sharing videos of my fab five singing (and Gibson's famous hip-hop dance style!), to the announcement of my books and articles based on and/or inspired by them, their YouTube videos, the launch of my "The Sibe Vibe" show on Dog Works Radio, to our Canine Cooking Corner, to poetry and stories, to being recognized with the Dog Writers Association of America's prestigous Maxwell Medallion for Excellence, to becoming the top-ranked Siberian Husky blog, and so much more! They always were close together, and here they are in their fave spot on our deck and how I see them in mind's eye today. February is love, and they truly embodied what love is for me, and they gave so much love in return.
