She was our first Siberian Husky, my daughter's dog...the OG of FiveSibes...the love of Gibson...adoptive momma to pupsters Wolf, Chloe, and Bandit...our beautiful badass pack Alpha Queen... Forever Missed.  How can it be three years you are gone? You had the biggest personality of any of our dogs. You reigned the pack majestically, fiercely, and lovingly. May you be having those crazy Harley husky zoomies north of the Rainbow Bridge with all of your beloved FiveSibes pack family now...I can still hear and see your love of running and chasing your fluffy tail. I hope the angels are playing Fetch with you because you sure loved that game! No other dog I have ever known could play Fetch as long as you could!   #Flashback Photo ~ 2014 ~ Bandit   Most hu-kids have gone back to school by now, many just starting this week! Here, the hu-kids went back yesterday! So, we're dedicating this week's #FlashbackFriday to when our pupster Bandit was all ready with her backpack for when she went to canine school! This particular year she was five years old and I brought her over to our trainer when I discovered she had some deafness. I picked up some great tips and I eventually took over and trained Bandit with hand signals so she would keep right up with her siblings Wolf and Chloe, and big brother Gibson and momma Harley! She caught on quick, and unless someone knew, no one could even guess that she was hearing impaired.  #FiveSibes Flashback ~ 2011 ~ Gibson With "pupsters" Bandit & Wolfie   So, why is Gibson sticking out his tongue? It's not the first time since the puppies joined our family in 2009 that he donned this look! See, if you know the story of our FiveSibes, this will make sense to you. To recap, our OG FiveSibes were Harley (who joined our family in 2005), then Gibson (in early 2006)...and they were our "married couple" as Gibson fell in love with Harley the second his fluffy four-month-old self set eyes on her! So until 2008, it was just the two of them...until three two-and-a-half month puppies crashed their lives!   Pictured above was my boy Wolfie's first visit to the beach!  What a fun day that was! S um-sum-summertime! Summertime is fun time, especially if you and your pups are headed to the beach, lake, or simply enjoying your own backyard pool. Before heading off to the shimmery waters with your canine companion, beach blanket, umbrella, and cooler, here are some important things to do ahead of time: Confirm that the beach is dog-friendly. Always bring fresh water and a portable water dish. Check that you have your travel pet First Aid Kit stocked and packed, including any medications and supplements, and don’t forget those doggy-do bags! Make sure all tags and microchip info is current and up-to-date with vet office and the microchip company. Pack a copy of your dog’s vaccine records. Have a photo handy (just in case your dog takes a stroll away from you and you need to create a lost poster). Test harnesses...
