Flashback Friday Visits Debut of Gibbie Snacks!

Image
Woo! Today's FiveSibes Flashback Friday takes a fond look back to when "Gibbie Snacks" were first introduced, and named after my sweet (now furangel) Epi-dog, Gibson. It was the Summer of 2013...  As part of our Flashback Friday, here's our video featuring our star Siberian Husky, Gibson, when Gibbie Snacks were first introduced!   Do You Know the History of Gibbie Snacks?  Did you know they are named after our #FiveSibes #Epidog and #CanineEpilepsy spokesdog, "Gibson?" Did you know they are healthy, fresh baked-in-the-USA and formulated by the experts at House Woof Dog Biscuits with the canine epileptic in mind and are made from lean beef?  Did you know they never contain preservatives, salt, or rosemary (all possible triggers for seizures).   Did you know they always contain farm-fresh and mostly organic ingredients? Did you know they donate $1/bag sold to help other Epidogs in need via The Wally Foundation-...

Paw Prints Forever on My Heart

Image
I've really been missing my big sweet boy, Gibson...and today began as one of "those" days where his absence feels so overwhelming. Then, while out with the rest of the #FiveSibes on the deck this morning, I actually heard a fifth set of paws crossing the wooden floor as they were all coming back inside... Perhaps a visit, or his way of showing us he is always with us.  Paw Prints On My Heart You came into my heart one day, So beautiful and smart, My dear and sweet companion, I loved you from the start. And though I knew the time Would come, When we would have to part, You’ll never be forgotten, You left paw prints on my heart. ~Author Unknown #MissingGibson #LiveGibStrong #FiveSibesForever #LiveGibStrongForever   Shared via Missing My Pets at the Rainbow Bridge Facebook page. And, as coincidence would have it, after I posted Gib's photo on social media, I then hop over to link up to BlogPaws' Wordless Wednesd...

A Pool Day for Labor Day!

Image
We hope everyone celebrating the Labor Day holiday is having a relaxing and enjoyable one! Why do we celebrate Labor Day here in the United States? According to the United States Department of Labor, " Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country."  So, as summer winds down for us here, our Sibes are enjoying one of the few remaining warms days for some Siberian Husky Labor Day pool time fun before school begins.  (See our Back-to-School Pet Tips infographic ). What are you and your pets doing today?  Something fun, we hope!

The Groomer Man Cometh and Goeth, Leaving Us With "Fluffy," a Siberian Husky, of Sorts...

Image
Yesterday was Grooming Day here at the FiveSibes homestead, and none too soon. While they are brushed on a regular basis, we have the groomer come to our house to give them their baths and in-between "pawdicures" that consist of having the fur (that grows wild between their paw pads) trimmed, as well as having their nails clipped.  The day began with the Sibes all quietly nestled in their beds, snoozing away peacefully in the air conditioned house, that is until I went downstairs and opened up the front door. They jumped up and raced over to the gate at the top of the stairs, their blue eyes wide with realization...The Groomer Man cometh! The horror! As I turned to tell them to "stay," I had to stifle a chuckle at the worrisome expression on their faces! If they could have run off to hide, the surely would have! These in-between visits the groomer uses a powerful grooming air force dryer (with no heating element) to assist with blowing out their shedding unde...

" Woo! You can win these amazing books! Keep reading!" What a fantastic Friday this is! We've had a rough week this past week with three of us being in "sick bay," hence  my brief absence, but that's a story for tomorrow! Today, there is just so much to celebrate and talk about! First up, it is the fourth anniversary of the very first air date of my show, "The Sibe Vibe" on Dog Works Radio ! On August 26, 2012, we chatted with amazing folks from the Siberian Husky Rescue of Florida! The show is produced by my co-host, Robert Forto, who is also a dog trainer and behaviorist, and lead musher of Team Ineka in Willow, Alaska, where my show is produced. Earlier this summer, Robert along with his wife, Michele, also a dog trainer and behaviorist, took a month off to come down to visit the lower 48 for their 2016 "Rock n' Roller" tour that began in Colorado.  Robert and I at our live taping of "The Sibe Vibe" in New York! ...

Wolf Under the Weather on a Wordless Wednesday; And Binx Stopping By to Say #BlackCatsRock!

Image
The heat wave continues scorching us here in Northeast, even though today we can at least breathe! Our FiveSibes have been living inside in the a/c, but this week sweet Wolf has been hit with a very harsh GI bug after a bit of excitement with an unwelcome visitor - Mr. Groundhog, flared up his anxiety that brought on the GI issues that bordered on HGE.  "Things" have thankfully, and finally, calmed down internally, and he did start to get his appetite back last night and ate a bland meal and homemade bone broth for supper and this morning for breakfast, so hoping the worse is over.  Pictured here, on our not-quite Wordless Wednesday, he's resting comfortably, the first time in a couple days. Stay cool and hope you are all doing well! And...in honor of International Black Cat Day, here comes our sweetheart "Binx,"  a feral kitty no more!  As many of you know, he was a very feral little boy brought home five years ago by our sweet, now furangel adopted...
