It's Back-to-School Time! Is Your Dog Ready?
Labor Day Weekend is here! While it's technically summer until September 22nd, Labor Day weekend unofficially marks the end of summer here and thoughts surround notebooks, laptops, backpacks, and school supplies as next week marks Back-to-School time here in our area! While kids and parents may or may not be ready to get back in the educational swing, the question is, are your pets ready for the change? Here's a helpful FiveSibes infographic with our top tips to help make this time of year less stressful for the entire family (and some of these tips are applicable to other pets as well! We had a dwarf bunny who would get so excited, he'd get bunny "zoomies" whenever my daughter came home from school!):

For today's FiveSibes Flashback Friday memory, once again here's our very studious Bandit, in a photo from 2012, all ready to dive into some homework! Will you or your dog be starting school soon?
"Woo. I love school! I'm studying the languages
of Dog and my native Siberian Husky."
The
Flashback Friday Blog Hop is brought to you by us - the FiveSibes! We welcome our co-host Love is
being Owned by a Husky! We hope you'll find a photo or video from Memory
Lane, post it, and link up to our Blog Hop each Friday! If you don't catch it
on Friday, you can link up any time during the week! To catch our past
Flashbacks, just enter "Flashback Friday" in the search box.
Come join us! We'd love to see your pets' Flashback pics! Just grab our badge

We are also joining in the Pet Parade, hosted by Rascal & Rocco, Bionic Basil, our co-host, Owned by a Husky, and Barking from the Bayou! Be sure to visit them and their hoppers!
I like the idea of everyone getting a snack together.
ReplyDeleteThanks! A fun part of the day!
DeleteGreat tips - we have a back to school post planned for next week!
ReplyDeletePawsome idea, I'd never think about getting the fur kids ready for school, some excellent tips here.
ReplyDeleteHappy Labor Day sweet friends! School started 2 weeks ago where we live.
ReplyDeleteThank you! You guys start earlier than us, but then your summer starts earlier, too, right?! :-)
DeleteLove your infographic artwork! As a dog trainer, I have a lot of new dog training students enroll in the fall. Maybe they read your tips. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you very much! Glad you like my infographic! Sounds like a busy fall, yay! Here's to a great school year! I hope your students enjoy reading them! :-)
DeleteOur school year is very different - we start back in February, but these tips are a great idea.
ReplyDeleteIn February, that is very different! How long does it run? Thanks so much for your kind words! Hope your school year is going great!
DeleteWhat a fun infographic! I pinned it. I love the idea of the dog escorting the kid to the bus stop.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I had fun creating it! I really appreciate the Pin! :-)
DeleteIt is so hard to believe that it is already time for school to begin again. My husband is a school bus driver for the intermediate (special needs) school district in our area. The kitties won't be going back to school, but they will notice the schedule change. I love your infographic! Have a happy Labor Day!
ReplyDeleteI know! Even though we had a nice, lovely long summer, it still went by so fast! Tuesday the kids go back here! I hope your husband has a safe and good school year! I'm glad you liked the infographic! Enjoy your Labor Day!
DeleteThose are some good tips for us and the pups!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! :-)
DeleteThis looks like a great Infographic but unfortunately it's too small for me to read and I can't get it large enough to see - it's probably my PC's limitations. I pinned the post but can't get the InfoGraphic to Pin. Grrr! I so need a new computer! I'll try again on my phone, I bet it will be better. Back to school is definitely impactful to pets, they're like "Hey, where did everyone go? What's happening?" Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteLove & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
Thanks, Cathy! I sure hope you'll be able to see it on your phone! Could be a good reason to get a new PC! ;-)
DeleteYes it is back to school here but my daughter graduated a few weeks ago. Some good tips. Kilo still likes to play rough house games at 4.00-4.30 every day as the little boy he lived with in one of his homes came home from school then.
DeleteThanks! Congratulations on your daughter's graduation! Wishing her much success on all her future endeavors! Isn't that something how Kilo remembers that play time?!
DeleteWithout kids in our house, back to school season isn't too different for us. We do look forward to seeing the kids walking to school on our morning walks, though! :)
ReplyDeleteThere is something so sweet about that time of year, isn't there? My daughter graduated 10 years ago, but seeing the children all walking and laughing on the way to school brings back those days of innocence and youth. She's having a baby in November, my first grandchild, so I'll be looking forward to being part of that again!
DeleteI don't have kids but Layla but its a great post for those that do
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ruth!
DeleteGreat tips - Back to School time is a critical time for Pets... Once the family is back in the school routine Pets can get bored & lonely... & might wander. So, thanks for addressing this topic.
ReplyDeleteThank you, and you are most welcome!
DeleteThese are great tips. Humans forget that animals get used to the summer routine and we miss everyone when things change up. Great infographic.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lola! I know our Huskies miss us if we leave for even an hour to go to the store! I remember when my daughter was in school, our pups, although we had only one of our Sibes and our senior rescue dog (her buddy since puppyhood) at the time, oh they really missed her and loved when she walked back in the door from school!
DeleteThese are great tips! I had no idea bunnies were so 'in tune' with their people. Loved reading that your daughter had such a connection.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sadie! Sugar was just so amazing! Truly a wonderful little bunny that was besties with my daughter and our adopted shelter dog who was just a puppy at the time! He loved to lay on my daughter's lap, with the puppy, and have my daughter read books to him, go for rides in her Barbie car, and just hang out and watch TV on the arm of our chair at night!
DeleteWe never thought about needing to help dogs with Back to School.
