Catching Up on Another Seizure Monster Visit on a #FiveSibes Flashback Friday

Image
Harley relaxing with her pack family on a recent evening. Have you missed us? We sure hope so! It has been a little hit and miss with my blogging lately due to a few things here on the homefront, including some ongoing heath issues for both myself and a few of the FiveSibes, including Wolf and his ongoing gastrointestinal issues from anxiety (that will be another post), Chloe having elevated kidney levels in her recent annual, and another visit from the dreaded seizure monster for my senior gal, the FiveSibes alpha queen and surrogate momma, Harley. It's been a little over a year since she had her first seizure, which after tests, showed she had hypothyroidism and could be the trigger for the seizure. At 12, it is not typically a diagnosis of Canine Epilepsy, but it is a whole new book of concerns when a senior dog starts seizing. Not only did Harley have her second full blown grand mal seizure a little over a month ago, she also had a little "incident" a couple ...

It's World Book & Copyright Day!

Image
In celebration of World Book Day and Copyright Day, as an author I am taking this time to say, "Go read a book!" And if it happens to be one of mine, that's even better! Below is a list of my K9 books, and the links to purchase them (via PayPal or Amazon) to add to your library! All of my canine books I am proud to say have a portion of sales donated to help either Siberian Huskies in need or Canine Epilepsy organizations (the benefactors are listed on the back cover of the books).  World Book and Copyright Day also is a time for all authors, writers, photojournalists, and publishers to join together in the mission of the day, "Promoting, reading, publishing, and the protection of intellectual property through copyright." Sharing our work is important to each of us, the essence of what we do as writers, photographers, artists, and publishers. And just as important as it is to encourage others to read and share our work, it is even more important for other...

Happy National Pet Day!

Image
Woo! While every day is Pet Day here at FiveSibes, today, April 11tth, is the official National Pet Day, founded by Colleen Paige, a pet and family lifestyle expert and animal welfare advocate.  "Make a Shelter Pet's Day ~  Visit, Foster, Adopt, or Donate!"  ~Dorothy Wills-Raftery, Author & FiveSibesMom One of my fave FiveSibes pics How did we spend the day here at FiveSibes? Just hanging out together! We reminisced about the days when my boy Gibson was here and the fun pack family shenanigans that took place, with his talking "I love you!" while doing his famous Gibbie Hip-Hop dance! Harley, Wolf, Chloe, and Bandit munched on treats. Their ortho beds had a nice spring cleaning. And, as you see pictured above, we packed up a bag full of new and very gently used dog toys that we donated to our local shelter to bring a little joy to homeless dogs in our community. It's important on days like this especially to think of the pets who are ...
