Happy 7th Birthday, Gibson!

Today is Gibson's 7th Birthday! Such a special day as we celebrate having this sweet, gentle, beautiful boy in our lives! I can't believe it's been seven years since I picked up the four month old wooly fluff ball with the clown shaped eyebrow mask who fell madly in love with our Harley the moment he stepped paws into our house! Even through all the trials of becoming an epileptic at age three, and now his torn cruciate (see full story in this past Friday Flashback blog post ), this boy is a fighter at heart ; a real warrior and I admire and love him so. Gibbie, here's to many, many, many more happy birthdays together! Today began with the wearing of some Birthday gear:  "Seriously, M om, a hat at my age??!! I am 7 after all!"  Baking up so me peanut b utter treats with our  ne w t reat maker...Gib waited pati ently, as  Wolf and Bandit "helped." "Let's get this party started!"   "Woooooo...

Flashback Friday #16: Wooly Sibe Gibson Steals My Heart

Since Gibson's 7th Birthday is in just two days...January 6th...I thought today's Flashback Friday should be of him as a pup. Here he is at four months old shortly after he joined our family. He is just the sweetest, kindest, most loving canine companion who seems like "an old soul." He is one tough pup too.       Diagnosed with Canine Epilepsy shortly after he turned three, and a resulting low thyroid disorder, which are being treated and managed , h e has also had a weak hind end and bouts of ataxia as a result of the meds, but has been having K-Las er maintenance treatments to help. A few months back he suffered from Bromide toxicity due to the pharmaceutical company's reformulation of one of his Epi-meds, and  became severely ataxic, but luc kily w ith the guid ance of our vet, he rebounded from that.       N ow, he has damaged his right rear cruciate ligament and has been lame in his hind right leg for the past several ...

Happy New Year!

Welcome 2013! While we don't like to make resolutions, we do have some wishes and hopes for the New Year: Our wish is that 2013 is filled with good health, happiness, and wonder for all of our family, furkids, furpals, and their families. We hope for a cure for Canine Epilepsy. We wish for no more homeless, abandoned, or abused Huskies, or any animals any where ever again. We'd love no more cruciate problems. No more tumors or cancer both in the canine and human world. We wish and howl for the safety for our children, families, and pets. We pray for World peace. We wish for a very Happy New Year to all of our Blogger friends and furpals, readers, listeners, followers, and fans! It is such an honor to be part of this wonderful Bloggerville community and share our lives with each of you. We've made so many wonderful friends here and  we've shared many happy life moments together, and we've also shared in the sad losses of several wonderful Blogger fur...

Pupster Chloe totally enjoyed opening gifts here in her First Ch ristmas when she was 11 months old! Her favorite part? Buddies It's one of those lazy, chilly, windy Saturdays here and a perfect day for catching up on some Christmas specials ! And we ha ve a very special little guest...my little "grandson" Hunter! Hunter is my daughter's b est friend's son. They've been friends since they were one and two years old! S ince she's like my other daughter, I have the hon or of being Hunter's "G-ma!" He's just chillin' here with Gibson watching some holiday cartoons! Here the Sibe kids were really into Hallmark's "Jingle" the Husky pup's animated movie! Gibson enjoyed "Jingle" the Husky pup movie! Chloe loved "Jingle!" Harley was snoozing, but peeked at the Husky puppies!  We hope you are all enjoying the days be fore Christma s !
