#FBF: Dog Memories Are Bubbles in Time
Our new place did not yet have a fence, nor a deck....but they adjusted so well! I did have to go back to having them on a leash as opposed to running free in our enclosed yard, and opted for a horse lunge line to give them exercise. But again, they adjusted well. They were seniors by this point, and had slowed down a bit (just a bit!) and were way more interested in all of the new sights and smells in our new neighborhood. Our yard had not yet been planted, so it was mainly dirt, but to Huskies, that made it a giant fun "sandbox" to dig in! They enjoyed all the walks and romps with our grandkids, while sniffing and marking their new territory.
Bubbles was a favorite past time for my grandchildren, and the Pupsters enjoyed those as well! Basically, they were just happy to be wherever we were and together, we created a whole bunch of new memories. Moving, in my opinion (and experience) is never a reason for letting go of a beloved pet. As long as they are loved and cared for and with the family they love and grew up with, they are happy. I could never imagine not taking them with us, for they were a part of our family. And those memories are all precious visits for my heart now that they have all earned their furangel wings.
Today's quote is perfect...life is indeed but a bubble in the vast ocean of time. So enjoy all those bubbles and memories of your beloved pets, for time goes by so quickly, it should get a speeding ticket.
