Remembering Carl D. Bromberg: A Friend, HuDad, Animal Advocate & Photographer

"In a world full of people who couldn’t care less…be someone who cares more." ~Unknown   T he above was a quote Carl D. Bromberg liked and had recently shared. It's so true, and Carl was one of those someones "who cares more." I sure hope he knew that.  Baby "Suri" with momma "Jesse." Photo by  Carl D. Bromberg/Visions Photography for  Little Miss Suri Facebook Page   I'm sad to say that on March 29th, I received a call from a very dear mutual friend who shared the heartbreaking news with me that Carl had earned his angel wings. With his devoted Suri by his side, she howled her goodbyes, guiding his way to the heavenly Rainbow Bridge, where his furangels were all waiting to greet him.     I "met" Carl many years ago, 11 to be exact, while I was working on my book, EPIc Dog Tales: Heartfelt Stories About Amazing Dogs Living and Loving Life With Canine Epilepsy. Carl had answered my call-out for stories about dogs w...

Kaffeeklatsch

FiveSibes #Flashback ~ 2020 ~ Wolfie   Coffee. Always. Coffee.  Kaffeeklatsch . Yes! Coffee with my Huskies. Oh, what a perfect start to the days those were. Here, as you can see, Wolfie was busy chatting to me! How I so enjoyed our conversations.  Boy, I sure do miss the days of enjoying a nice cuppa and having a good ol' kaffeeklatsch with my boy Wolfie by my side. My now-angel German mother, who frequently used the term, and so loved our coffee dates as much as I did, would certainly approve. Have a cuppa with your pups...let them speak, and enjoy the kaffeeklatsch. Really enjoy those special moments for they go by way too fast.    "Take a break, sip, and enjoy the moment." ~Unknown      đź’› Memories Are Visits For The Heart đź’›   Join Us! Helpful Tips for Giving Epi-Dogs (or Any Dog) Medications

Image
I was thrilled that on Purple Day this year I debuted this new joint-project I did with Tracy Smith of the supportive GIBBS-erish...Making Sense of Canine Epilepsy Facebook group. I've paired up with Tracy before when she hosted her Whine & Wag video podcast on "Talking About Canine Epilepsy" with veterinarian neurology experts. That was a such a great project, that we teamed up again for this one!      Gibson with his anti-epileptic medications (AEMs), also referred to as  AEDs (anti-epileptic drugs) and/or anti-convulsants.  Both having Epi-dogs - Tracy's "Gibbs" and my "Gibson" - we know how often times it can be a challenge to a) get dogs to take their much-needed medications, and 2) ensure they actually swallowed their medications (as many are pretty tricky! I've found my Gibson's capsule stuck in his thick wooly fur a few times)!  Missed doses can be very unnerving for Epi-dogs as it is so important to keep those anti-seizure m...
