Sponsor Huskies In Need for the Holidays and Make Their Season Bright!

‘Tis the season to help Huskies in need! And there are so many who are waiting for their forever homes whether it is in the care of a loving foster family or waiting at a brick-and-mortar rescue for someone to come and welcome them into their family.

Sharing my life with my FiveSibes—Harley, Gibson, Wolfgang, Chloe, and Bandit—I learned so much and received so much love back from them. They will always be in my heart. And in their names, I’d like to help other Siberian Huskies in need get a little taste of what a wonderful Christmas filled with love can be like.

Rescues and their volunteers do incredible work. From saving Huskies who have been abandoned, injured, sick, and even owner-surrendered…these caring folks go above and beyond to help Huskies in need…from getting them medical care, finding them a caring foster home, offering transportation, working with them to readjust to love and a home life, training, and helping rehabilitate them and acclimate them to a loving home life.

Throughout my article here, I will be highlighting four rescues who would love to have someone "sponsor" one (or more) of their Huskies who, while under medical care or waiting for a forever loving family, could use some holiday cheer. If you could take a moment to read about them, that would be so appreciated. And...if you know of a business that would love to sponsor, that would be great, too! Please share this blog post as well so we can reach as many people as possible to help show these Huskies in need that it certainly can be "A Wonderful Life."

Oh, what beautiful Huskies just waiting for their forever homes...hoping and wishing for some  special treats and toys this Christmas!  Bee Pawsitive Husky Rescue is a "new kid" on the rescue block, founded just this year 2022. (Sidebar: I'll be doing a Spotlight on them in an upcoming blog post).

Says Candida Campos, the President of the rescue, "Bee Pawsitive Husky Rescue strives on helping as many huskies and northern breeds as we can. We rescue from euthanasia list all over Texas, strays and abused or neglected furbabies. We are raising money to build a sanctuary to help more in need on two acres of land.... But for now we are foster-based until we can build our dream to help as many as we can and have a sanctuary for them to stay in to give the proper veterinary care and time for them to find their perfect furever homes."

Rescues and rescued dogs rely on the generosity of others to help with the exorbitant costs that can be involved. While the rescues are non-profit, they do not have the funds available to save the high number of Huskies who get dumped, abandoned, or injured, and need help.

This is where we all come in.

For this holiday season, wouldn’t it be nice to help simply by sponsoring a Husky or even sending an item or two on a rescued or fostered Husky’s Wish List? It is the season of caring and if we all just saved the money it costs us to have a coffee, tea or drink from our favorite place and use it to maybe pick out a toy, treats, or something else on a rescue’s Husky’s Wish List…how wonderful would that be? The Husky smiles would abound, and these dogs would get a little Christmas spirit and love from others in this amazing community.

Even if you can’t afford to donate something (and we all understand with today’s inflation, it’s a challenge)…but if you can share this with others, possibly even a local business, or a big business, who could not on ly open up their hearts to Huskies in need, but also their wallets, to help give these homeless dogs a little something extra come Christmas morn while they are witing for their own loving forever family.

Kora is a beautiful two-three year old Husky who has a wonderful disposition. Kora's foster mom, Sally Porter, says, "She is beautiful both inside and out. Kora is great with dogs. She would make a fantastic second dog. Coming from a shelter she learned her new name in one day and has meshed with house life very well. She does enjoy just being outside sniffing the cool air, but loves snuggling her cold nose in to you. She is extremely smart. Might sound odd, but I don't 'Treat Train' as I use positive reinforcement and praise and she's more than happy to work for love!"

To adopt beautiful Kora, go HERE.

Even the Grinch was checking out Kora's info and Lilly's Treats!

Will Trade Treats for Toys!

Kora's foster mom, Sally, has a wonderful offer to folks who would like to send Kora some toys...she is the owner of Lilly Bear Treats, a homemade treat company in Upstate Hudson Valley New York, and she says she would love to "trade some toys for treats!" If you're interested in trading some toys to Kora for some of Sally's Lilly Bear Treats, drop her an Email at: lillybeartreats@gmail.com! Be sure to mention that you saw this on FiveSibes! (I do not get a commission, I just love to see happy Huskies!)

In the past, my FiveSibes and I have “adopted” or sponsored a Husky for the holidays. And I have to tell you, it was such a wonderful feeling to be packing a box full of items that was going to a Husky who by luck of life’s draw did not have the same wonderful loving life my five did. Even my Huskies were excited about it (or they just really liked the toys and treats I was packing in the box!) Either way…they were right by my side as we filled a box with not only goodies, but love as well. Helping another is feeling that stays with you all year long.

So featured throughout this post (in alphabetical order) you'll meet a few gorgeous Siberian Huskies from reputable rescues who could use a little Christmas cheer. And…in return, you could get a woooo-nderful pic of your sponsored Husky!

While there are many rescues in need, these are the ones who responded to my call-out and would love to have these furbabies get a little extra love this season.

Master Wolf with Shadow Husky Rescue, Inc. has an update on handsome one-year-old "Shadow" who was hit by a car on November 20th and underwent four surgeries in the past week. "He is so happy to be in his foster home...He's not out of the woods yet. He's not really drinking water, but he is eating and water is being added to his food. Also his rump is hurting and he is unable to squat to poop. We are speaking to his surgeon on a daily basis and monitoring him closely. We know he will have a very long 8-12 week initial recuperation period followed by physical therapy and ask for your continued prayers."

Shadow Husky Rescue has put together a small Wish List on Amazon if anyone wants to send him a care package and brighten this beautiful and brave boy's holiday. Simply go HERE to shop for Shadow. If you are interested in perhaps making your own choice of gift for Shadow using Amazon Smile and ship to the rescue, simply go HERE.

I think Santa Paws would love to have some toys and treats sent to this sweet boy and brighten up his Christmas morning!

Oh, and feel free to sponsor one, or a few! (And remember, donations to a nonprofit can be tax deductible, so keep your receipts and check with your accountant).

Listed in this blog article are some wonderful Huskies currently in a rescue or a foster’s care for a rescue who could use a little extra holiday love. And…you don’t even need to leave your chair with thanks to online ordering! They have Wish Lists, and their favorite items are listed. Anything you could send would be so welcomed by the Husky or Huskies you sponsor! Think of it as “adopting” a Husky for the holiday…and maybe, you’ll even receive a digital pic of your Sponsor Dog with their gift(s)! (This FiveSibesMom “Elf” will put in a good word for that!)

These beauties would love Santa Paws to bring them some pawsome treats and toys this Christmas! Texas Husky Rescue gives us a little info on these Huskies waiting for their forever homes.

"Elvis is a handsome boy who is looking for a home for the holidays. He’s a sweet boy who really just wants to be loved and will be your shadow. Elvis is calm but also gets the zoomies like any other husky. He would love some Blue Wilderness dog food and dog treats."

"Yeti is a distinguished gentleman. At 8 years old, he enjoys naps and cuddles with his people. He would make the perfect companion to a laid back family that enjoys the simpler things in life. He would enjoy some canned Merrick Chicken or Salmon food and a dog bed for his aging joints."

"Aurora is a 4 year old wooly and is playful, loving, mischievous, snuggly and SMART! She immediately becomes everyone's favorite as soon as they meet her because she has such a sweet and funny little personality. She is a special needs dog with an unnamed neurological condition causing her to have less feeling and sensation in her back legs. She’s in no pain and loves to play like any regular dog. She would love some toys and Merrick Chicken dog food."

Oh, how happy these Huskies will be receving some treats and wishes of love for the howliday!

To adopt beautiful Elvis, Yeti, and/or Aurora, go HERE.

Some of these furbabies are special needs, so your gift(s) will really mean so much.

Until these Sibes can find their loving forever home, anything we can do to help out the rescues to help them is a wonderful thing!

And, of course, if you are interested in welcoming any of these beautiful Huskies into your family,  please contact the rescue to inquire about adoption application and possible transport, and just maybe one of these Huskies in need could be sharing this holiday with you and yours! Now what a gift that would be!

Please be sure to take a look at all four of these rescues, and thank you *so* much for anything you can do to help make the season a bit brighter for some homeless Huskies!
