#FBF: Writing for AmericanPet Magazine ~ Creating Stories For Pet Lovers
This is a fun and nostalgic flashback…the editor/publisher at AmericanPet Magazine just sent me the above pictured hard copies of a few of the issues of her magazine that my articles were published in. I'm proud to say that my writing and photography is in 19 out of 20 issues beginning with Issue #2 (the only issue my writing isn't in is Issue #1) - and eventually I was named co-editor of the magazine! Such a great mag. I was sorry to see it come to a close. The final issue was published in 2019, but you can still read the digital issues for free until the end of the year by clicking below and picking the issue(s) you'd like to read!
My stories, while many were about Siberian Huskies, many others covered a wide range of topics, including:
- Every Picture Tells A Story Pet Photography;
- Various articles on Canine Epilepsy;
- It Takes a Village to Help Huskies in Need;
- Take Your Dog To Work Day;
- Horse book author review & interview;
- Episodes of my podcast The Sibe Vibe;
- Pet Safety: Keeping the Scream out of Halloween;
- Buddy the Christmas Husky: From Abuse & Abandonment to Rescue & Love;
- Disaster Preparedness for Pets;
- Chasing Down a Dream to the Iditarod;
- Keep Your Pets Safe in Hot Weather;
- Paws to People: Bridges to Cures Comparative Studies Research in Humans and Canines;
- Coconut Oil a Healthy Choice for Your Dogs;
- Hope's Haven: a Fiction Story;
- and many others!

Let me know which is your favorite issue and which of my stories touched your heart!
Plus, my books were awarded Best in Print each year! 🥰
A heartfelt thanks goes out to Suzin Karp, publisher and editor, who was such a joy to work with, for always highlighting my K9 achievements, some were a total surprise until I received my issue! I'm happy that although the magazine has closed its doors, my friendship with Suzin remains.
As both a writer and lover of animals, this was truly a joy to be part of, and I will forever appreciate it.
