Winter Solstice: Lighting Candles For Our Beloved Furangel Huskies

Image
Light a candle at 8 PM and join us and other snow dog families in unison across the world as we toast our beloved furangels. So here it is. About 25 or 30 years ago, I started setting aside the Winter Solstice as a day to remember all the amazing dogs I have been blessed to know. Most being Siberians, the first day of winter, glistening silver harnesses, and fresh snow just seemed appropriate.  Then, maybe 10 yea...

Welcome to FiveSibes, Rocky!

Image
Woo! I'm so excited to share that this beautiful boy, whose name is "Rocky," is my niece's new dog! Rocky has already experienced what all snowdogs dream of—snow, of course! ❄️🐕  And, he has already done some bikejoring with his hu-brothers, and they are looking forward to also doing some skijoring! Rocky is going to have a fabulous life with four kids (my 2 great-nephews & 2 great-nieces) to keep him busy, which we all know a Husky loves family and to be busy!  Periodically, I'll be posting and sharing all the fun things that Rocky will be doing!  So, please join us in welcoming this beautiful boy as an honorary FiveSibes family member!     "Our family has expanded by four paws."  ~Author Unknown   Rocky says, "Thanks for the warm welcome!"   For more info & to see the stops on my Wolfie, What Is The Rainbow Bridge? virtual book tour, check HERE!   Ten years. A decade. Without my beloved heart dog and Epi-warrior, Gibson. D ecember can be a the most wonderful time of the year, and it is...but, it as I've also written for the past 10 years, it can also be a very melancholy time of year, too. I sure feel both.  Post Bath: all fluffy and clean! Wasn't Gibson was the cutest fluffball!    Gibson became part of my family in 2006 when he was just four months old. When I saw him—a dirty, stinky, ball of fluff with a winky eye who came loping toward me in what was to become his signature bunny-hip-hop style—my heart surged. I was in love. I didn't care that lady told me she thought something was "wrong with him because he had an odd eye."   What? He had a parti-eye! Clearly she knew nothing about Sibeiran Huskies! I didn't care. Gibson chose me and I chose him. I only wish I had taken more pics of us together. He grew up so fast! And I was usually the one behind the camera taking their pics. But, I digress......
