FBF: Remembering Our Bandit Girl, Thief of Hearts on Her Rainbow Bridge Anniversary
Our beautiful, crazy, resident "thief" who so fit her moniker, dear Bandit (a/k/a "Bee" and "BandaBear") earned her wings on this date back in 2020. It's so surreal to think this firecracker of a dog has now been gone five years. Time is so strange. All of my memories of her and her wild (and yes, sometimes nutty) Husky shenanigans brings a chuckle to me now. She was the quietest of our FiveSibes, rarely howled, only in unison when the rest of the pack began singing and she was never one to be left out! Always daring to be first and often times would try to assume the alpha role (silly girl), but she was always reminded by Harley that no one was the alpha queen of the FiveSibes pack other than "momma" Harley! Bandit loved to try (unsuccessfully as Harley was always out front) and be first during our pack walks.
Bandit loved to (as her name implied) steal all of the other FiveSibes toys and proudly gather them around her. Occasionally, when my grandson's pacifier would disappear, we knew right where to look! She also loved to snuggle up with her pack family, race them across the backyard, dive into their pool, sit like an angel for snacks, and snuggle up on my chair with me (a 58-pound "lap dog!") when we all watched TV together. She loved ice cream treat day, too! Nestled beside the other four and patiently waiting for some communal licks with the whole pack of a cone or dish of vanilla!
Bee was beautiful, sassy, quiet, fun, annoying at times, silly, and loving, and we loved her right back! Oh, what would a day be without someone calling out, "Bandit!" a bunch of times because she would have gotten herself into some type of mischief (sounds like a child, right?!) But oh, how she loved us and especially her pack family of Harley, Gibson, and her sister/littermate Chloe and brother/littermate Wolfie. Those Three Musketeers were inseparable! And I loved that they never had to be split up and could grow up together and live their lives forever-together as a family.
So, today, on her Rainbow Bridge anniversary date, I am pushing the sadness that she is not here aside, and sharing some fun moments that I think really highlight who she was.
I am raising a treat and giving a howl (before I go "steal" like Bandit something from a family member-BOL!) all in her memory. I'm sure she is blazing a trail up there with her whole FiveSibes pack family beside her.
Dear BandaBear...
I hope you're driving all those doggy angels a bit crazy. I bet you've even stolen a few sets of wings and have them hidden under your fluffy cloud bed! You will always be our Bandit girl, thief of our hearts.
Love and miss you, girl. Your forever FiveSibesMom

What a love tribute to a memorable fur kid. I bet she was sitting right next to you in spirit stealing your goodies off your desk as you wrote this in her honor. What a lovable and funny pup Bandit was with the best family ever! Time certainly is weird. I agree. As kids we beg for the clock to speed up then we hit a certain age or a certain moment, and plead for it to slow to a snail's pace. I wish we had time machines. Life would be easier. But at least we can shower ourselves with lovely memories. Great article in honor of beautiful Bandit! I love all the photos. I'm sharing with all my pet parents.
