FBF: A Tribute to All the Moms & A Special Poem From An EpiDog to His Hu-Mom
This is a big weekend for Moms of all orders...Saturday, May 11th is Dog Mom's Day and Sunday is Mother's Day! So whether you are a mom, adoptive mom, foster mom, surrogate mom, mom-in-law, a friend-who-is-like-a-mom, a grandmom standing in for a mom, a dog mom, or a hu-mom to any pet, this weekend is all about celebrating YOU!
Because this is a dog blog, naturally, I'm going to concentrate on our hu-moms, adopted dog hu-moms, and foster hu-moms. Oh, how fun is to to celebrate with our beloved dogs.
While I absolutely adore being a mom of a human child, I loved being a dog mom, too. While all of my beloved FiveSibes and adopted dogs have now earned their furangel wings, they are forever in my heart, and I will forever be a proud Dog/Husky Momma.
As most of you know, Gibson was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy shortly after his third birthday. I met so many wonderful fellow Epi-dog mommas during our six-year journey with Canine Epilepsy. One of the hu-moms, whose Epi-dog, "Shadow Pas De Deux" and her lovely poem was featured in my book, EPIc Dog Tales: Heartfelt Stories About Amazing Dogs Living & Loving Life With Canine Epilepsy (new copies available on my Ebay) has given me permission to share it on Dog Mother's Day.
It's a heartfelt, beautiful poem written from Shadow's perspective. You may need a tissue!

What a fabulous Mom's day post!!
ReplyDeleteShadow's poetry is so heartfelt and tender. Loved it (in between dabs of tissue on my leaky eyes). Oh what I would give to be able to spend more time with epi-warrior Elsa. đź’ś
