Our NEW News Page - Keeping Up With the "Mystery Dog Respiratory Illness"

With all the news coming about of cases spreading across the country of dogs contracting a very serious respiratory illness dubbed "mystery dog illness" that can mimic kennel cough, it is imperative that at the first hint of a symptom, contact your veterinarian.

In an attempt to organize the flood of incoming information and news, as a career photojournalist, correct and accurate information is of the utmost importance to me and to share with my readers. I've created the "Mystery Canine Illness News" page HERE that can be found on my blog (click above or in the drop -own MENU at the top) as a resource section to help share the facts and important links to resources to help cut through all the information circulating and give you a concise, accurate landing place.

I will be updating as the news requires. Also, if you have veterinarian reports, or vetted information, just send me an Email or message me on my FiveSibes: Siberian Husky K9 News & Reviews Facebook page. I'll check it out and get it up if the information is not already here.

This fast-spreading dog illness is expected to get worse before it gets better, but the good news is this: veterinarians are joining together to figure it out to help our dogs. At this time, the experts say this illness has not jumped to affecting cats or humans, and they do caution pet parents to a) not spread panic, and b) don't assume something you read about antibiotics is *the* answer. Talk to your vet. S/He knows your dog's health record and can discuss with you what their recommendation is for first-line antibiotic (if needed) should be according to your dog's health. But do be your dog's advocate and ask questions.

On the "Mystery Canine Illness News" page, I outline just what this respiratory illness is, what symptoms to look out for, and recommended ways to help keep your dog(s) as safe as possible while this is inexplicably running rampant.

Let's be aware and safe out there. And in the meantime, share the link to my page for updated information found in the MENU, or here is the direct link to my "Mystery Canine Illness News" page: https://fivesibes.blogspot.com/p/mystery-canine-illness-news.html

  2. Thank you for doing this for us. I'll be checking back on a regular basis. I was planning to take Lexi, Shelby, and Bella to the groomer before Christmas but I already re-thought that and cancelled their appointments.
