To Go in the Pool or Not on #FlashbackFriday!

Summertime was always lots of fun at our FiveSibes homestead! It meant pool time! Now, not all five of my Sibes were thrilled to get wet (it's a Husky thing), Harley and Gibson L-O-V-E-D the pool and hose! It's a funny and fond memory remembering how when I brought out the hose, Harley would be first in the pool! (Gibson would get in the empty pool and wait for it to be filled with water.)

As you can see from the above photo...while Harley was always first Husky in...our Pupsters Wolfie, Chloe, and Bandit, would run off the deck and wait down below for it to all be over! Actually, they'd wait for the hose to be turned off and then Bandit and Wolfie would come up and hop in the kiddie pool, while Chloe never left her "safe" spot down below in the yard! That girl did not like the pool or the hose or rain or bath, or water of any kind! But Harley, she loved the hose and the pool, she would excitedly wait as if she was saying, "Bring on the water!"

    Layla hates water of any kind, I call it the war of water and have tried putting her in a pool at a pup pool party and she was mortified LOL. I wish she did though as it would be so much fun. I love your memories and this one made me giggle big time, thank you so much as always for sharing

    My huskies don't like the water, which is weird, because all my huskies in the past LOVED to wade and swim!

    Oh how funny!!! I adore the diametrically opposed photos of loving the pool and not thrilled about it. They totally sums it up. I'm so glad you capture the moment in photos.

    I think Henry is somewhere in between. He doesn't like getting wet unless it's his idea or there are other critters in the "wetness" and fun. It's in those moments I say he's "King Henry".

    Once again, your Friday Flashback has brought a smile to my face. I truly love your Flashback Fridays. Thank you for sharing them. I'm sharing them with my dog parents.

    Oh your pups made me laugh especially Harley waiting for the water to arrive in the empty pool !!!!!! Some dogs are mad keen to be in the water but others aren't. How different they are.

    It's each pup's preference isnt it?

    How funny!! It must have been quite a pool pawty at your house!! Icy hates pools & wants no part of them!! She loves natural water like creeks, a bay, & lakes. But she won't go in beyond her belly!

#PrayersForHarley - Dewclaw Tumor

Dewclaws. Such an unnecessary evil for a dog. In August, I noticed Harley limping. At 11-and-a-half, she is a bit stiff-legged at times from arthritis, but this was a more pronounced limp and she was having an extra tough time sitting down. She seemed very uncomfortable. She was also becoming a bit snarley, especially when I was touching her paw, which is something that never typically bothers her. Upon further checking, I noticed an odd lump around her dewclaw on her right leg, thinking it was possibly a pulled dewclaw, maybe a splinter, thistle, or even a bee sting , she became extremely agitated when I touched it.    (Warning: some photos may be somewhat graphic, but I am sharing for educational purposes).   Oddity beneath the dew claw.   Off to the vet we went. The Rainbow Bridge Welcomes A New FurAngel - Buddy, the Christmas Husky - A Forever Symbol of Hope for Rescued Dogs

My beloved Gibson is there. As is my Chelsey, Sandy, kitty Smokie, bunny Sunny, my fox Ah, many horses, and so many others pets. We have many furfriends who have also crossed The Rainbow Bridge. All of these beloved animals are there...so healthy and happy, with all the dogs enjoying their zoomies and playing Fetch all day in a land that is eternally beautiful. Sounds perfect. So while they are in a place where the spirit soars, our hearts are broken as we are missing them here with us. Fit For Our #FiveSibes Alpha Queen: Celebrating Harley's 14½ Birthday

Born on March 10, 2005, our beautiful alpha queen, pupster surrogate momma, and my daughter's and our first Siberian Husky,  turns 14½ today! You may be wondering why are we celebrating her half birthday? Because, as heartbreaking as it is, we now know she will not be here in March to celebrate her 15th Birthday as I once had hoped. Heartfelt thanks to Ann at Zoolatry for this beautiful badge. Thank you all who are sharing it and joining paws for our girl.
