Born on March 10, 2005, our beautiful alpha queen, pupster surrogate momma, and my daughter's and our first Siberian Husky, turns 14½ today! You may be wondering why are we celebrating her half birthday? Because, as heartbreaking as it is, we now know she will not be here in March to celebrate her 15th Birthday as I once had hoped. Heartfelt thanks to Ann at Zoolatry for this beautiful badge. Thank you all who are sharing it and joining paws for our girl. As amazing and strong as our queen has been, and how proud I have been of how she still could outrun Pupsters Wolf and Bandit, still splash in her pool like a puppy, tear up a dog bed like there's no tomorrow, and chase her tail until the sun sets, our beloved Husky leader has also been dealing with health issues that we have been treating, but are now slowing her down and, heartbreakingly we are preparing ourselves for her journey, that we as pet parents all dread, to the Rainbow Bridge. “Dogs' lives a...
Purrsonally we are glad the dental month is over, but our toothbrushes are still here!
ReplyDeleteI think the toothbrushes will be staying! Our Sibes love the taste of mint toothpaste, but not so keen on the brushes, either!
DeleteWe don't brush, but we have dental treats. Happy leap day!
ReplyDeleteMmm...dental treats can be a tasty way to healthy smiles!
DeleteAbsolutely LOVE seeing this picture of Gibson leaping through the snow - such joy in his face!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! He just loved the snow! :-)
DeleteHappy Leap Day!
ReplyDeleteTo you, too!
DeleteHappy Leap Day! We are trying to decide on the best way to get and keep the collies' toofers clean. (Abby was supposed to get her teeth cleaned when she was spayed, but because she is a collie she had a bad reaction to the anesthesia and the vet didn't think it was safe.). I've read some people are having good results with coconut oil and dog toothbrushes...
ReplyDeleteI do give my Huskies coconut oil every day in their breakfast kibble - I toss the kibble with the oil so they can get the effects when they chew it. It's also good for digestion, plus many other great benefits. I also use a rubber finger brush and minty dog toothpaste. They seem to like that much better than a toothbrush, and they love the minty taste. There's also a great supplement that helps both gums and joints my vet recommend, TDC Periodontal & Joint Support. I rub it over their gums every night. Check with your vet. :-)
