Memorial Day Weekend Meant Pool Time for the Huskies!

 FiveSibes #Flashback ~ Wolfie and Bandit ~ 2015

Memorial Day Weekend is here and that always signaled the unofficial start to summer and the hot weather here...and it also meant the time when I purchased new kiddie pools for my FiveSibes and set them up out on our covered deck for them to frolic in and splash around to keep cool on those hot days when they needed exercise. Oh, what fun those first days of bringing out the pools, dragging the hose up on the deck, and the excitement in the Huskies as I the sound of the water hit the plastic pools! It wasn't a complete event unless they were sprayed with the hose mist and instantly ran into zoomies—in and out of the pool!💦  I have so many fun wonderful summer pool pics of them. Today, it's Pupsters Wolfie and Bandit in the pool. I had just bought them all a new ball to play pool Fetch with, and they were ready! I can close my eyes and smile as I still hear the splashing, the throaty sounds of their joy, and the thumping and sliding of their paws as they jumped in and out of the pools.  Oh, those very cool, pool days were the best!

"A good swimming pool could do that—make the rest of the world seem impossibly insignificant, as far away as the surface of the moon."
 ~Emma Straub, The Vacationers

And since it is Memorial Day Weekend, let's keep our pets safe while we are gathering with family and friends and paying respects to our fallen heroes—canines and human.

This blog post is dedicated to the memory of
my father, a WWII hero, who served first with the Big Red One (Army's 1st Division) and his second tour with the Rainbow Division, both medical detachments. Dad is pictured here with my Mom, a Rosie the Riveter, who worked in the Army's Watervliet Arsenal as a machinist/lathe operator.

  3. I remember summers in the pool, and the dog, a German shepherd, standing on the side and barking at us as she didn't want us in there. She was not a swimmer.

May I ask about Flashback Friday? How often do you do it, each week or once a month? I've got so many old photos I'd love to trot out again.
