Chloe is Cuckoo for Coconut Oil on a #FlashbackFriday

My FiveSibes all loved coconut oil, and it's so healthy for dogs and humans. Back in 2016, just when the benefits of coconut oil were being discussed, I interviewed acupuncturist, nutritional counselor, and wellness coach Carrie Andress of Andress Acupuncture in Kingston, NY for her expertise on the smooth oil for my article "Cuckoo for Coconut Oil: A Healthy Choice for Your Dogs" that was published in AmericanPet Magazine, along with several photos of my FiveSibes! Below's 2016 Flashback photo is Carrie with two of my FiveSibes, Chloe and Harley, who were thrilled to meet her!
 
 
The top Flashback photo of Chloe, as published in the magazine, is a fun one because as you know by now, Chloe was our resident foodie dog! That girl just loved food. And in this pic, you can see it in her bright blue eyes as she waited for her egg omelette with coconut oil! And if you know Huskies, you know there was also a lot of Sibe kisses and "wooo'in" going on, too!

    The photos are absolutely wonderful!!!! From that picture, I'd say Chloe definitely loved coconut. I've always enjoyed coconut oil myself. Some of Henry's supplements have a "bit" of coconut oil in them. I have to admit, I haven't really thought much about giving him coconut oil separately as a supplement onto itself. I'm definitely going to ask his vet about it. Thanks for this great info and terrific flashback! I'm sharing with all my dog parents!

    Chloe was such a beauty! My dogs Love eggs too. I never gave them coconut oil, but I will try it if my Vet has no objections.

    Coconut! I remember it when it was 'all the rage'. I gave it to Harvey and he loved it. Essential for him and it made a difference so I am not surprised your pups loved it. I love the photos and they did make me smile - an enthusiastic Husky but be quite a handful!!

#PrayersForHarley - Dewclaw Tumor

Dewclaws. Such an unnecessary evil for a dog. In August, I noticed Harley limping. At 11-and-a-half, she is a bit stiff-legged at times from arthritis, but this was a more pronounced limp and she was having an extra tough time sitting down. She seemed very uncomfortable. She was also becoming a bit snarley, especially when I was touching her paw, which is something that never typically bothers her. Upon further checking, I noticed an odd lump around her dewclaw on her right leg, thinking it was possibly a pulled dewclaw, maybe a splinter, thistle, or even a bee sting , she became extremely agitated when I touched it.    (Warning: some photos may be somewhat graphic, but I am sharing for educational purposes).   Oddity beneath the dew claw.   Off to the vet we went. The Rainbow Bridge Welcomes A New FurAngel - Buddy, the Christmas Husky - A Forever Symbol of Hope for Rescued Dogs

My beloved Gibson is there. As is my Chelsey, Sandy, kitty Smokie, bunny Sunny, my fox Ah, many horses, and so many others pets. We have many furfriends who have also crossed The Rainbow Bridge. All of these beloved animals are there...so healthy and happy, with all the dogs enjoying their zoomies and playing Fetch all day in a land that is eternally beautiful. Sounds perfect. Fit For Our #FiveSibes Alpha Queen: Celebrating Harley's 14½ Birthday

Born on March 10, 2005, our beautiful alpha queen, pupster surrogate momma, and my daughter's and our first Siberian Husky,  turns 14½ today! You may be wondering why are we celebrating her half birthday? Because, as heartbreaking as it is, we now know she will not be here in March to celebrate her 15th Birthday as I once had hoped. Heartfelt thanks to Ann at Zoolatry for this beautiful badge. Thank you all who are sharing it and joining paws for our girl.
