Memories of Chloe, Our FiveSibes Sweetheart, on her Fourth Rainbow Bridge Anniversary 🌈✨πŸ•

 #Flashback ~ Chloe ~ 2019

My daughter's Chloe was one of the sweetest dogs we've ever had. She truly was the sweetheart of our FiveSibes pack family, and the best mannered of the three Pupsters (while all well-trained, Bandit could be a brat to her siblings, and Wolfie could be aloof, but they always stuck together, like the Three Musketeers! They were siblings in every sense of the word.)

Chloe just loved to be happy, sleep, and eat; maybe in the reverse order since she looooved to eat! Chloe would talk--a lot--I dubbed her "Chatty Chloe!" She had this adorable warble to her woo, that was a mix of a bark and a howl. And when it was time for a meal or snack, she was the first one who arrived on the scene, immediately sit, and eagerly wag her tail while waiting.

When she blew out both of her cruciates at the same time, and we rushed her to the hospital and were told she required immediate surgery "Or..." - there was no "or!" We took her to the surgeon, who was an hour's drive away. He was the surgeon for our state's police dogs, and he was an excellent vet surgeon. While Chloe had to be carried in, as she could not walk...two days later she walked out (with help from a sling)...and I thought she was a miracle dog! We were told her CCLs were "shredded." Something the vet pretty much surmised was genetic, so she was born with bad ligaments. For all she went through, Chloe was THE best patient. She stayed in a large crate in my daughter's room (who was her nurse 24/7) and truly Chloe amazing. She never complained. Never had any accidents. And she worked hard to recuperate, which she thankfully did.

When she healed, she used to always be the first one out of the five back in the house because she wanted to claim her spot under our kitchen nook table, beating out Harley and her sister Bandit, for her preferred spot. (Gibson always claimed the window seat, while Wolfie could care less!)

Chloe in all of her chattiness!
If you know Huskies, this is just awesome!

While she talked non-stop, Chloe truly had the face of angel. It's hard to believe it's been four years since we've heard that woo or seen that face (that was always waiting for a treat!) To say our house is way too quiet now is an understatement.

I don't like to remember how she left us...sudden acute liver failure...but she was surrounded by us, and love, at home. Which is the only consolation. Instead, I'll remember those blue eyes, that innocent face, her chattiness, how she fought back to walk after double cruciate imbrication surgeries, how she loved her pack family, and how much she absolutely adored my daughter.

  3. Chloe was the most amazing dog and so gorgeous. I know EXACTLY what you mean by saying no to the 'OR' What a rock start mom to a great dog. I am not surprised she is so greatly missed.

  4. Oh what a beautiful girl! Isn't it funny how time moves fast and slow all at once? I just love the memories you share. The video is absolutely precious! She certainly did love to talk. Did she talk in her sleep too? While she was a fighter, she had the best family fighting for her. Thank you for so generously sharing your memories! I really do love them!
