Earth Day: Invest In Our Planet by Reducing Your Pet's Carbon Pawprint
Today is Earth Day and it's our #FlashbackFriday Blog Hop! In honor of both, I'm sharing a Flashback photo to a past Earth Day of our alpha queen, Harley, having fun running in the green grass on this planet of ours that we all need to work together to keep healthy for generations to come.
"This is the moment to change it all — the business climate, the political climate, and how we take action on climate. Now is the time for the unstoppable courage to preserve and protect our health, our families, and our livelihoods," it states on EarthDay.org. "For Earth Day 2022, we need to act (boldly), innovate (broadly), and implement (equitably). It’s going to take all of us. All in. Businesses, governments, and citizens — everyone accounted for, and everyone accountable. A partnership for the planet."
To help do our part again this year, I am sharing a few of our #FiveSibes tips to help reduce your pet's carbon pawprint:
🐾 Walk you dog whenever possible instead of going for car rides.
🐾 Use recycle bags whenever going shopping for your pet's food & supplies.
🐾 Make your pet's snacks whenever possible.
🐾 Recycle your pet's food containers instead of throwing them away.
🐾 Feed your pet using a stainless steel dish.
🐾 Use biodegradable "green" non-toxic cleaning products.
🐾 Plant a tree in memory of beloved pet who has passed.
🐾 Recycle your pet's medication containers. (Check with your vet, or even your acupuncturist if they accept empty containers).
🐾 Use biodegradable "doggy do" clean-up bags.
🐾 Don't use the microwave to warm up your pet's food.
🐾 Recycle your pet's used pool water or warm drinking water to water plants, shrubs, and trees.
🐾 Stitch up unwanted pet beds and toys and donate them to a rescue or shelter.
🐾 Spay or neuter pets to reduce overpopulation and the epidemic of homeless pets in shelters and rescues.
🐾 Turn off lights, cell phones, computers, tablets, and all electronic devices and get outside with your pets!
Tell us what are you doing to help Reduce your pet's carbon pawprint and help protect and #InvestInOurPlanet?

Great tips guys, thanks so much for sharing and hosting todays hop!
ReplyDeleteFantastic post and tips, thanks for your blog hop, Happy Earth Day from us
ReplyDeleteThose are all really good ones. We recycle and repurpose as often as we can. Happy Earth Day!
ReplyDeleteBased on your list, we're doing pretty darn good. Of course, walking instead of driving, for example, is easier where we live now than it was when we live in the city. There was no good place to walk the dog without driving to a decent place.
ReplyDeleteHappy Earth Day! I have a degree in biology, with a concentration in wildlife biology, so as you can imagine this topic is near and dear to my heart. These are great tips for reducing our pet's carbon pawprints! We do many of these things, and more, in our own home. Your last tip was my favorite. I spend so much time on my computer, it feels so nice to just turn off all the screens and go spend time outside with my dogs.
ReplyDeleteYour ideas are fantastic and worth remembering all year round with such a helpful list of prompts.
ReplyDeleteThank you and Happy Earth Day.
Great tips to help our planet. I especially like the unplugging tip. I went on to a horse whispering clinic a few years ago. It was great! Besides, the horses and knowledge I learned, one of the best parts was being completely unplugged for 10 days. It was rough re-entering society. 😉🤣
ReplyDeleteYour info graphic is fabulous!
Great ideas! I wish they offered recycling bins in my apartment complex. You would think that recycling would be really easy everywhere, but it still isn't. We've begun helping to curb the amount of cat food cans we go through by splitting a can between the cats at each meal (that is still more than enough for them). We've cut our waste in half that way.
ReplyDeleteThese are great tips help our planet! I'm actively trying to reduce our carbon footprints by trying to buy eco-friendly products. Although we always recycle, it is better if we just don't bring any plastic home!
ReplyDeleteThese are great tips for Earth Day. I'm a big fan of using canvas reusable totes whenever I go shopping. Yes! If we all make bold changes collectively we can make a big difference for future generations on the planet. Well said!
