Time for a Change


As Jon Bon Jovi sings, the more things change, the more they stay the same...so even after all the fun, fab years of having five Siberian Huskies and sharing their lives here in wonderful Blogville, I've decided to change a few things because even though things here have changed, I've always kept things the same. I like consistency!

But, while I've kept the blog and FiveSibes website I worked so long and diligently on the same for years, it's time now for a change. A slight change, but a big one for me. Due to rising prices of maintaining websites and web designers, I've now made the decision to move my website info over to my blog here that now *features pages* (see up top and be sure to click on "More"), including an ArcticHouse Books & Gifts Shoppe page where you can purchase my books. So many things have changed here at FiveSibes, and well, I just rather save the crazy amount of dollars and spend it on my grandkids and Wolfie. 

So please bear with me as I transition my files over to this blog and recreate my #LiveGibStrong K-9 Epilepsy online library here for all to access. While I will still own my FiveSibes.com and ArcticHousePublishing.com domains, I will be shutting them down. But all the info found there will be available here over the next few weeks!

I may also, after 11.5 years, give this blog a facelift. The majority of my readers have commented that they read this blog on their iPhones and iPads, and not so much on the ol' desktop anymore. So, I am changing the design to be better viewed on those devices. As many of you already know, I am a career writer, so another new addition is I may also begin to share some of my other writing here, and an added moniker of #TheSibeScribe!

In the meanwhile, I'll still be posting periodically on what's happening with Wolfie, and doing our weekly #FlashbackFriday blog hop!

If you do happen to click on the pages that will be listed at the top of the blog, you may see a few with a notice that more info is coming while it is under "construction." Just know Wolfie and I are behind the scenes here moving, updating, and rearranging things!

And once all is said and done, I do hope you'll visit our library of pages that will include info on the Siberian Husky breed, #LiveGibStrong K9 Epilepsy info, info on lost & found pets, Husky and northern breed rescues, link to episodes of my show "The Sibe Vibe" (which is on an indefinite hiatus), and, of course,  a bookstore to purchase my books, t-shirts, and awareness bracelets.

#PrayersForHarley - Dewclaw Tumor

Dewclaws. Such an unnecessary evil for a dog. In August, I noticed Harley limping. At 11-and-a-half, she is a bit stiff-legged at times from arthritis, but this was a more pronounced limp and she was having an extra tough time sitting down. She seemed very uncomfortable. She was also becoming a bit snarley, especially when I was touching her paw, which is something that never typically bothers her. Upon further checking, I noticed an odd lump around her dewclaw on her right leg, thinking it was possibly a pulled dewclaw, maybe a splinter, thistle, or even a bee sting , she became extremely agitated when I touched it.    (Warning: some photos may be somewhat graphic, but I am sharing for educational purposes).   Oddity beneath the dew claw.   Off to the vet we went. At the vet, Harley is protective of her paw by hiding it . Harley's paw was shaved and it uncovered a very large inflamed area surrounding the dewclaw and beyond, as you can see in the below photo

The Rainbow Bridge Welcomes A New FurAngel - Buddy, the Christmas Husky - A Forever Symbol of Hope for Rescued Dogs

My beloved Gibson is there. As is my Chelsey, Sandy, kitty Smokie, bunny Sunny, my fox Ah, many horses, and so many others pets. We have many furfriends who have also crossed The Rainbow Bridge. Fit For Our #FiveSibes Alpha Queen: Celebrating Harley's 14½ Birthday

Born on March 10, 2005, our beautiful alpha queen, pupster surrogate momma, and my daughter's and our first Siberian Husky,  turns 14½ today! You may be wondering why are we celebrating her half birthday? Because, as heartbreaking as it is, we now know she will not be here in March to celebrate her 15th Birthday as I once had hoped. Heartfelt thanks to Ann at Zoolatry for this beautiful badge. Thank you all who are sharing it and joining paws for our girl. Preparing Your Epi-Dog For The Solar Eclipse

No matter where you live, if you plan on watching the solar eclipse, aside from protecting your eyes from “eclipse blindness” with special American Astronomical Society approved eclipse glasses, but did you know that the eclipse could have an affect on your Epi-dog (epileptic dog)?
