Heat Wave on a #FiveSibes Flashback Friday

Wow! This summer sure is one for the record books! After a short break from the heat, the past few days the temperatures rose as the humidity snuck back in at almost 100% giving us days with a heat index reaching a sweltering 105℉, which is unusually high here in the Hudson Valley. No one wanted to be outside, especially our snow-loving Huskies! They even have to be convinced to leave the cool air conditioned house when it was potty time, and then it was a quick trip out to do their business, a run through the pool (except for Chloe who hates water!), and then right back inside!

Today's Flashback photo above is from last summer when one day after the Sibes were back inside and I stayed out on the deck to freshen their pool water and hose down the area, I turned to see Bandit had opened the kitchen door to peer out at me as though she was worried about me staying out in the heat! I guess it is a role reversal when your dog thinks you need to come in from the heat instead of you asking them to come in! BOL!

Q. When it is hot and steamy out,
how do you and your pets stay cool?

Come join in our weekly stroll down Memory Lane in our FiveSibes Flashback Friday Blog Hop! Whether you share a photo of your pet from yesterday or yesteryear, let's have fun looking back over the amazing lives of our pets! What a wonderful way to kick off the weekend, too! We know how busy everyone one is, so the blog hop is open all week, so join in any time!

  1. Bandit really does look concerned for you! We have had an unusually hot summer too with high humidity. We are back to the traditional English summers now though with lots of rain and cooler temperatures. High humidity is normal for us though whatever the temperature.

  2. It's sticky here. Thankfully a bit overcast today but the humidity is ... ugh.

  3. What a cute picture! It's too funny when the dogs actually look at you like you have 5 heads for going out in the sweltering heat. Today we finally have a break - it was a delightful morning walking the dogs in the park. You could tell they were just dying to get OUT after being cooped up for days all week long.

  5. I love your Flashback Friday and was thinking today how last year on this date we had a breaking record of 106 Deg and today thank goodness it is like 63 - phew what a difference. Have a wonderful weekend with a woof from Layla
