Newsy Tuesday: Celebrating First Donation to Save Our Siberians-Siberspace Rescue Fund, And A Tribute to a Husky Friend

Woo! We are so excited to announce that we have now been able to send off our first donation check in the amount of $50 to the Save Our Siberians ~ Siberspace Rescue Fund from sales of my second FiveSibes Tale, Getting Healthy With Harley: Learning About Health & Fitness!

Barb Branham of the SOS-SRF shared these wonderful photos of her beautiful Huskies who are howling their thanks for the donation to help Huskies in need!

"Jolie" is howling a happy "thank woo" and looking forward to it helping Huskies in need through the SOS-SRF!

"Shaka" is very pleased!

Epi-dog "Sabre" and "Jolie" thank everyone who purchased Getting Healthy With Harley and hopes more will buy this fun book children's book so SOS-SRF can received more donation checks to help more Huskies in need!

The Save Our Siberians - Siberspace Rescue Fund (SOS-SRF) is an organization that, according to their website, "raises and disburses funds to assist Siberian Husky rescue groups and individuals with non-routine expenses incurred for rescue dogs. This might include paying for heartworm treatment or making a contribution towards major surgery or multiple medical expenses." To date, the SOS-SRF has helped "nearly 500 dogs" since first forming in 1998!  Applications for funds must be submitted to their rescue coordinator by visiting their website at www.SOS-SRF.org

Many thanks to all of you who have purchased my Getting Healthy With Harley book, illustrated by Michelle Littler! A great book for children and adults alike! A wonderful book to read together so children learn about making healthy choices (for pets and people!) And...because of your purchase, this (I hope first of many) donation check to the SOS-SRF was made possible! Thank you!!! I'm proud to also say that Getting Healthy With Harley has also been awarded "Best in Print" by American Pet Magazine, and named to the Talent Hounds 2015 "Top Dog Books for Kids" list!

If you'd like to purchase my fun and educational Getting Healthy With Harley book, Harley and the SOS-SRF would so appreciate it as a portion of all purchases is donated to help rescue Huskies in need! You can purchase the book through our publishing website - ArcticHouse Publishing - or through Amazon.com (Note: Please always look to be sure the seller is ArcticHouse Publishing, that's us!) And, if you'd like it autographed and personalized, just let us know!

I would like to dedicate this post to Bob Baker, who was the SOS-SRF Rescue Coordinator since 2002, and one of the founding members of the Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue in Pennsylvania. Sadly, Bob passed away November 30, 2015, two weeks after my Mom passed away and two weeks before my Gibson journeyed North of the Rainbow Bridge. I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Bob, first three years ago at the 10th Anniversary of the Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue Tails on the Trails event in Pennsylvania. He and one of his Huskies starred in my rescue video. Then, I once again had the pleasure of speaking with him in depth about the SOS-SRF, rescue work, and Huskies when he was a guest on my "The Sibe Vibe" Dog Works Radio show (To listen to the show featuring Bob, please visit our channel HERE). Bob was a great lover of Siberian Huskies, and a devoted volunteer who helped Siberian Huskies in need. While we are truly saddened by his passing, we know he is now enjoying the company, and receiving many Husky kisses, from so many he has loved and helped who are now with him, North of the Rainbow Bridge.
