We are Sending Heartfelt Condolences to the Rockin da Huskies Family

Hearing the devastating news that the Twete Family of Rockin' da Huskies, Rockin' da Moots, Rockin' da Rescue, Rockin da Shirts, suffered a devastating loss this past weekend when their beautiful daughter/sister, Cat Twete, was killed in an auto accident, it was just unimaginable. Rockin da Huskies has been iconic in the rescue and northern breed world, and so many of us have at least one (or many) Rockin shirt, decal, or product in our closet. They have so generously helped many rescues, auctions, and causes, including our own FiveSibes #LiveGibStrong K-9 Epilepsy Fundraiser this past November. While we do not know them personally, but rather through our social media Husky "neighborhood," we all, through our love of dogs, do feel very connected to each other in our community, and we feel the loss of one of its members. It just breaks my heart to know the pain this family is going through and we can only send out our heartfelt condolences and prayers to them on their deep, tragic loss. This beautiful girl was also a young mom, leaving behind a three-month-old son. Just heartbreaking. All of us here at the FiveSibes family are sending out woos of love, prayers, comfort, and heartfelt hugs to the Twete family. Heaven has certainly gained a beautiful young angel...may she rest in peace.

    I was so so shocked when I read this on Robins timeline the other day. Shocked! I'm still not sure what to say about the whole thing. I have been partnered with them for quite some time now where they send me some products monthly for me to review on my blog. I speak to them on Instagram as well as email often and I am just so speechless. :( :( I think it's wonderful you did this tribute to Cat.

#PrayersForHarley - Dewclaw Tumor

Dewclaws. Such an unnecessary evil for a dog. In August, I noticed Harley limping. At 11-and-a-half, she is a bit stiff-legged at times from arthritis, but this was a more pronounced limp and she was having an extra tough time sitting down. She seemed very uncomfortable. She was also becoming a bit snarley, especially when I was touching her paw, which is something that never typically bothers her. Upon further checking, I noticed an odd lump around her dewclaw on her right leg, thinking it was possibly a pulled dewclaw, maybe a splinter, thistle, or even a bee sting , she became extremely agitated when I touched it.    (Warning: some photos may be somewhat graphic, but I am sharing for educational purposes).   Oddity beneath the dew claw.   Off to the vet we went. "Freedom 46"

You most likely have heard the recent news about the "Freedom 46" - the 46 dogs (mainly Cocker Spaniels, plus a few other breeds) the Oldies But Goodies (OBG) Cocker Rescue helped to rescue from a property in Virginia. It just boggles the mind that people can treat animals in this manner...we hear story after story, and in this case, these poor dogs were residing in a "hot barn without anyone to give them proper exercise or keep their water dishes filled. Many were covered with their own feces and urine. OBG worked with Animal Control and with the support of the Virginia Federation of Humane Societies to remove these dogs from that property," states Teresa Butler, the president of the OBG. "The dogs rescued from this property are now safely boarding with veterinarians that work with OBG and will be evaluated by veterinarians over the course of the next week with the goal of moving them into foster homes as quickly as possible. The Rainbow Bridge Welcomes A New FurAngel - Buddy, the Christmas Husky - A Forever Symbol of Hope for Rescued Dogs

My beloved Gibson is there. As is my Chelsey, Sandy, kitty Smokie, bunny Sunny, my fox Ah, many horses, and so many others pets. We have many furfriends who have also crossed The Rainbow Bridge. All of these beloved animals are there...so healthy and happy, with all the dogs enjoying their zoomies and playing Fetch all day in a land that is eternally beautiful. Sounds perfect. Only catch is when our devoted companions are there, we can no longer physically be with them. So while they are in a place where the spirit soars, our hearts are broken as we are missing them here with us.
