Rock n' Woo With the FiveSibes in a New Music Video and Happy Birthday to "The Dog Singer!"

Woo! What's Harley so happy about? We have some very exciting news to share, that's why! The FiveSibes are starring in a music video! Wooo!

We are big music fans in this house, and our FiveSibes are truly "a little bit country,"and a whole lot of Rock n' Woo! Even when they were puppies, music is how they settled down in their kennels to sleep. When they had their own room, and no radio was in it, I'd put on the television and they each loved something different. Gibson and Harley loved anything with singing, so a musical movie or show captivated them. Chloe and Bandit loved watching cartoons with all the animation and singing characters. And Wolf had to have hard rock music...AC/DC songs could lull his puppy self right to sleep! They grew up with my daughter jamming on her guitar, tinkling the ivories, and beating out a song on the drums.  The former rock band manager in me was in Heaven! Music filled our house, our ears, and our souls...and still remains an important part of our lives to this day.

That's why I'm so thrilled and honored that Harley,
"I'm a Husky dog, King of the snow..."
Gibson, Wolf, Chloe, and Bandit are starring in a newly released video aptly titled "Siberian Husky," (also known as "The Husky Song") written and performed by the very talented, gifted, and award-winning singer/songwriter Nancy Simmonds! In addition, she is also known as "The Dog Singer" with over 110 wonderful breed songs she has written and recorded. Above, Bandit and Wolf howl along to Nancy's song all about their breed, the magnificent Siberian Husky!

-->
“Rev me up, I'm ready,
Wake the pups, now move out steady
Take it easy, we've got the night
Take your time and do it right
We've got the power, we don't take a chance
Never say never, we can go the distance
I'm a Husky dog, king of the snow
Rev me up, hey, let's go!
If you're lost in the Arctic haze
I can lead you back where you're safe
In Siberia we are the best
More determined than all of the rest
Hitch me up I'm the lead dog
Runnin' all the way to Iditarod
I'm a Husky dog, king of the snow,
Rev me up, hey, let's go!"
~Nancy Simmonds, "The Dog Singer"

Nancy was the featured guest on a recent episode of my show "The Sibe Vibe"on Dog Works Radio. (See end of post for show link, or you can listen in to it on iTunes!)  My co-host and producer, Robert Forto, and I thoroughly enjoyed talking music with Nancy, who also treated us to three of her wonderful songs, "Siberian Husky," Wolf," and "Malamute." When Nancy announced that she was making a music video for "Siberian Husky," both Robert and I were so thrilled that she chose our FiveSibes and Team Ineka Huskies to star in it! (Robert cross-posted the video as well, today on Dog Works Radio). This fantastic song is a chart topper for sure! Great lyrics (about a wonderful subject - Huskies!), a rockin' beat, and Nancy's beautiful voice...it's so catchy, we know you'll be humming to it out on the trails!

Are you ready to rock out with some Husky tunes?! Can you wave your hands in the air and give me a "Wooo?!" I am so pleased to debut the video here on a very special day - Nancy's birthday!

& Team Ineka:

Wasn't that just (p)awesome?!! It's so cool to see our FiveSibes and Robert's Team Ineka Huskies in all of their beauty set against the beauty of Mother Nature to the rhythm of Nancy's wonderful song and lyrics! This is definitely a highlight for the FiveSibes!

A little about Nancy, for more than 35 years, Nancy has had a career in music, but says her passion is her dog songs. “I think these songs help pet owners celebrate and appreciate their four-legged friends,” Nancy says. With all the different breeds of dogs and rescue dogs, it seems Nancy will be busy for a very long time writing new songs. "That that makes me one lucky writer!" she says!

In 2010 Nancy and songwriting partner, Alannah Myles ("Black Velvet"), won the USA Songwriting Contest. To read more about this very talented singer/songwriter, as well as links to her MusicalTails.com website and store where you can purchase individual breed songs or a "litter" (a mix) of songs on a CD visit her website at NancySimmonds.com. Her music can also be purchased on iTunes and Amazon.com. Nancy also is a supporter my #LiveGibStrong Canine Epilepsy Awareness Campaign and she generously donated several of her Musical Tails CDs featuring her wonderful songs "Siberian Husky," "Alaskan Malamute," and "Wolf" for our November benefit auction for Canine Epilepsy Resources Epil K-9 Foundation and The Wally Foundation for Canine Epilepsy. These CDs are available for purchase and can feature any of her breed songs and what a wonderful gift for the dog lover in your family! Check out clips all of Nancy's songs over on her website.
