It's Mardi Gras Time!
Wooo!
Translated, snack time! And thanks to our friends at House Wolf K-9 Dog Biscuits, here's a great recipe to whip up for your krewe today to enjoy on Fat Tuesday! It's named after our Mardi Gras "King" Gibson! And here's a little insider info, it will be featured in an upcoming new FiveSibes™ Tale children's book all about cooking later this year! So get put on your prettiest masks, don the most colorful beads, and bring your mixing bowls and appetites for some paw-licking House Wolf "Gibson's Ginger Peanut Butter Bars!"
We're joining up with Sugar the Golden Retriever's "Tasty Tuesday" blog hop for "Fat Tuesday" so be sure to check out Sugar's site and the sites below for some great recipes and tips!
And's what Mardi Gras and "Krewes" all about?
Today actually closes out the Mardi Gras Carnival, which runs from the Epiphany, January 6, to the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday) and celebrations mark this occasion with parades and colorful costumes, and many "krewes," which are walking/marching clubs and the one just for canines is called the Krewe of Barkus. There's also lots of food (it's not called "Fat Tuesday" for nothing!)
