It's Tasty Tuesday! Maple Pumpkin Cookies...And...A BIG Announcement is Coming!

"Woo...how long until the oven buzzes?"
Tuesday spells y-u-m-m-y here in Blogville! First, the Sibes and I would like to wish the "Tasty Tuesday" blog hop co-hosts Sugar and Kol a very Happy and Tasty First Anniversary as last Saturday  marked one year of Tasty Tuesdays! Congrats! That's a celebration we can all sink our teeth into! This week, I am sharing a recipe I just whipped up for the Sibe kids this week and they were very excited to taste test - Maple Pumpkin Cookies! Even I enjoyed a few bites of the chewy cookies! I guess with the nights dipping down into the cooler temperatures these past two nights, I got bit by the Autumn bug and not only wanted to bake (now that the house is not so hot), but I wanted to whip up something with the icon of Fall and a staple in our house for the Sibes - pumpkin! (You can see some of the benefits of feeding your dog pumpkin in a previous blog post HERE). We hope you enjoy it as much as we, I mean, they did!

    Hey Sibes, Jet here.

    We love pumpkin too, however, with the temp in the 90's and the heat index pushing 100 with 100% humidity, Mom doesn't have the impetus (vocab builder) to bake ANYTHING!!!

    We made momma scribble down this recipe and are hoping that she too will be bitten by the Autumn bug...it has been a LONG time since the oven has been on in our house...raw, grill, stovetop, crockpot that is our summer mantra!

#PrayersForHarley - Dewclaw Tumor

Dewclaws. Such an unnecessary evil for a dog. In August, I noticed Harley limping. At 11-and-a-half, she is a bit stiff-legged at times from arthritis, but this was a more pronounced limp and she was having an extra tough time sitting down. She seemed very uncomfortable. She was also becoming a bit snarley, especially when I was touching her paw, which is something that never typically bothers her. Upon further checking, I noticed an odd lump around her dewclaw on her right leg, thinking it was possibly a pulled dewclaw, maybe a splinter, thistle, or even a bee sting , she became extremely agitated when I touched it.    (Warning: some photos may be somewhat graphic, but I am sharing for educational purposes).   Oddity beneath the dew claw.   Off to the vet we went. The Rainbow Bridge Welcomes A New FurAngel - Buddy, the Christmas Husky - A Forever Symbol of Hope for Rescued Dogs

My beloved Gibson is there. As is my Chelsey, Sandy, kitty Smokie, bunny Sunny, my fox Ah, many horses, and so many others pets. We have many furfriends who have also crossed The Rainbow Bridge. All of these beloved animals are there...so healthy and happy, with all the dogs enjoying their zoomies and playing Fetch all day in a land that is eternally beautiful. Sounds perfect. So while they are in a place where the spirit soars, our hearts are broken as we are missing them here with us. Fit For Our #FiveSibes Alpha Queen: Celebrating Harley's 14½ Birthday

Born on March 10, 2005, our beautiful alpha queen, pupster surrogate momma, and my daughter's and our first Siberian Husky,  turns 14½ today! You may be wondering why are we celebrating her half birthday? Because, as heartbreaking as it is, we now know she will not be here in March to celebrate her 15th Birthday as I once had hoped. Heartfelt thanks to Ann at Zoolatry for this beautiful badge. Thank you all who are sharing it and joining paws for our girl.
