The Singing Sibes

A few of the "tricks" the FiveSibes have learned include "speak" and "sing." Now, as every Sibe parent can attest to, Siberian Huskies just love to talk. And with a little encouragement and training, they can talk, sing, and howl on request (again and again and again)! Their singing is so part of their charm, and fortunately, I have wonderful neighbors who love to hear our Huskies sing! Here is a little fun movie trailer of "The Singing Sibes" having such a howling good time that we submitted it to Pup Love's "Tricks for Treats" contest. We always love asking them to speak or sing and then enjoy listening to their conversations and songs! We hope you'll enjoy the trailer and a clip of one of their songs!     I loved your video! So much fun to watch other doggies singing. :)

    My mommy told me that her aunt used to have a Sibe -- she remembers him as a very friendly doggie. :)

    I can't wait for the premier of your movie! Nothing better than watching beautiful singing pups! And you pups have gorgeous voices! I could listen to you sing all day! And I loved when you all just stopped on cue. Perfect!

    Oh that was a fun sing-a-long! I tried to hit the high note with yaz but my voice cracked. Guess I better stick to the tenor part ;)

    Ha roo roo roooorooooo roooooooo!!!! did you hear us? We all joined in the fun when we heard your song. We can't wait for your movie to debut in OP - we will be sure to see it.

    Mom has just finished filling out the renewal form for our permit to have more than two dogs. A few of the questions relate to "noise levels" disturbing to the neighbors. Of course, Mom wrote that we rarely bark, and that IS true. But she did not mention our singing abilities:)

    I have two reactions to this wonderful little post. First, you have totally gone high tech! movies? Wow! I am so impressed (and a little bit jealous)!
    Second, is OMG that is some serious singing! I had no idea!

    So glad I stopped by on the blogger hop.

    BRW - Just curious. Is one of the Sibes a Malamute/Husky mix? He/She looks exactly like a dog we walk with at the dog park named Balto! He sings too and everyone gets a kick out of it.

    I love the trailer! Boy, you guys are going to be famous! SlobberDog sings sometimes, but only for his dinner. It's really funny because he's a soprano! Not right, coming from a face like that...

#PrayersForHarley - Dewclaw Tumor

Dewclaws. Such an unnecessary evil for a dog. In August, I noticed Harley limping. At 11-and-a-half, she is a bit stiff-legged at times from arthritis, but this was a more pronounced limp and she was having an extra tough time sitting down. She seemed very uncomfortable. She was also becoming a bit snarley, especially when I was touching her paw, which is something that never typically bothers her. Upon further checking, I noticed an odd lump around her dewclaw on her right leg, thinking it was possibly a pulled dewclaw, maybe a splinter, thistle, or even a bee sting , she became extremely agitated when I touched it.    (Warning: some photos may be somewhat graphic, but I am sharing for educational purposes).   Oddity beneath the dew claw.   Off to the vet we went. "Freedom 46"

You most likely have heard the recent news about the "Freedom 46" - the 46 dogs (mainly Cocker Spaniels, plus a few other breeds) the Oldies But Goodies (OBG) Cocker Rescue helped to rescue from a property in Virginia. It just boggles the mind that people can treat animals in this manner...we hear story after story, and in this case, these poor dogs were residing in a "hot barn without anyone to give them proper exercise or keep their water dishes filled. Many were covered with their own feces and urine. OBG worked with Animal Control and with the support of the Virginia Federation of Humane Societies to remove these dogs from that property," states Teresa Butler, the president of the OBG. "The dogs rescued from this property are now safely boarding with veterinarians that work with OBG and will be evaluated by veterinarians over the course of the next week with the goal of moving them into foster homes as quickly as possible. My beloved Gibson is there. As is my Chelsey, Sandy, kitty Smokie, bunny Sunny, my fox Ah, many horses, and so many others pets. We have many furfriends who have also crossed The Rainbow Bridge. All of these beloved animals are there...so healthy and happy, with all the dogs enjoying their zoomies and playing Fetch all day in a land that is eternally beautiful. Sounds perfect. Only catch is when our devoted companions are there, we can no longer physically be with them. So while they are in a place where the spirit soars, our hearts are broken as we are missing them here with us.
