A Friend Journeys to the Rainbow Bridge
When I see a rainbow, I
think of all the beauty in life. Our furpal Suka felt the same way...he and his Hu-Mom K spoke of life's beauty many times in their blog. I know that so
many of us here in Bloggerville have now heard the news about Suka leaving
on his journey for the Rainbow Bridge. He had just been diagnosed with
incurable heart disease and was given anywhere from a few weeks to a few
years to love K, feel the snow on his nose, and dealing with
those Kung Fu bunnies. It was with such shock and sadness to hear our
dear beautiful Suka was desperately needed as a FurAngel, and was
called for his next big adventure in the sky a lot sooner rather than later. We all have said before
how we have become a close-knit community of pet parents here, and when one of us
loses a beloved pal, we all feel it. We weep tears for friends we may never have met, but have surely come to know through their stories, photos, and Emails. Such is our friendship with Suka and K.
I'd like to imagine that Suka's departure was as much fun and as big of an adventure that he so enjoyed in life. As he was laying outside in the cool air, thinking about his days of chasing those bunnies across the river bed and fields he so loved, he spotted a beautiful rainbow glistening in the distance. Suka decided to follow it...all the way to the most beautiful of places - a snow-covered pasture beyond the Rainbow Bridge, where he is now happy and healthy, feeling the cold, sparkling snow that he loved so much falling all about him.
Dear Suka, saying good-bye is never easy, so instead we we will celebrate having been able to get to know you and for your Hu-Mom K sharing you with us. The FiveSibes are sending soft woos heavenward to you and hugs to K.
The sad fact is that we never know how long we will be blessed to have our beloved companions by our side...and each day is indeed a blessing for all they bring to our lives. I'm giving my Sibe kids an extra dose of hugs today in Suka's memory, a memory that will shine on forever in Bloggerville amongst us friends.

(In Loving Memory of Isolde Jenkins)
Weep not for me though I am gone
Into that gentle night.
Grieve if you will, but not for long
Upon my soul's sweet flight.
I am at peace, my soul's at rest
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed
For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts,
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath
Remember not the strife.
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life.

ReplyDeleteDear FiveSibes and Family,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this incredibly beautiful tribute to my Suka. I am extremely touched by your gesture and overcome with emotion by your lovely, heartfelt words. I especially love how you depict Suka's departure. It is a very comforting, and lovely, vision to have of how Suka left on his journey.
The photo bubble you created is so wonderful and I can't stop crying when I look at it. Thank you for creating that, I will treasure it always.
Thank you for being such good, true friends to my Suka. He always loved to see what the gorgeous FiveSibes were up to and often wished he could join them in their fun antics and play. Your friendship was very dear to us, and will remain so with me.
Peace,
K (Suka's human)
Sad sad woos... we saw Suka's blog earlier this morning and mom cried all over the keyboard... we're going to do a special skywatch tonight and know we'll see him streak across the sky in his silver harness on his way to new adventures.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, five sibes.
