Wolfie, What Is The Rainbow Bridge? Kids' Book Earns Story Monsters® Award for Literary Excellence!

 FiveSibes #Flashbacks ~ Wolfie 2021; Wolfie Book 2025

In the words of my FiveSibes, Wooooooo! Why all the excitement? Well, today's #FlashbackFriday is a bit different...yes, I'm highlighting a fond memory photo above...but...we're all excited because my FiveSibes Jr. Tale, Wolfie, What is the Rainbow Bridge? that I wrote with my young grandson, just received another award! It was selected as a Story Monsters Approved book in the Religious/Spiritual category!

"What makes this book program so unique? KIDS assist our industry experts in judging submissions, so when a book earns the Story Monsters Seal of Approval, it means that children are recommending the book for other children to read, too!" ~Story Monsters®

The most exciting part was presenting my grandson with the Story Monsters' award medal and certificate! And today, he took the book, the award certificate, and his medal to school to show his teachers and to read the book to the class again (at the class' request)!

He had previously brought it in to school when it was first published. My grandson's English teacher read it to the class, and he came home and told me there wasn't a dry eye in the classroom! One of his friends had just lost a dog, too, so he really related to the book.

This award is so meaningful because KIDS were part of the judging process ~ and since my grandson co-wrote this with me, that means so much to know that other children are recommending the book to other children!

Certificate and medal!

Just recently, his classmates asked my grandson to bring the book back in for them to read again! So, today, he brought it back in again, and his homeroom teacher read it to the class. And, my grandson proudly showed them his certificate and medal during Show-and-Tell.

How wonderful to know that children want to hear the story (more than once) and to hear that it really touched them.

*Spoiler Alert - the dog does not die in the book!*

Losing a pet is so heartbreaking and devastating for us adults--can you even imagine how it feels to a child? I sure can. I hope those who have lost, or about to lose a beloved pet, will find it soothing and helpful. No matter how many books I have written, or will write, this one will always hold an extra special place in my heart because my grandson co-wrote it with me, both inspired by true events with our beautiful white Siberian Husky named "Wolfie," who bonded so closely with him after all of his packmates (my our other FiveSibes) journeyed to the Rainbow Bridge.

I am one proud Nanny (grandmother)! 🥰

And…I think my boy Wolfie would be very proud, too. 💙🐕

I also want to say a HUGE heartfelt "Thank You" to all of you who have ordered the book, shared it, sent me pics with your dog and the book, gave it an Amazon review, and to those who joined in my Blog Book Tour with your own creative reviews. That all truly means the world to my grandson and I! And what an inspiration and great learning experience for my grandson!

  8. I'm so excited for you and your grandson. The book is amazing and not only is a great resource to help kids cope with pet loss but personally I think adults can benefit from it as well. We may be older but the loss still hits us hard.
