Gibson: A Forever Heart Dog's Rainbow Bridge Anniversary 🌈✨🐕

Image
My fluffy snuggle boy, Gibson, with his wolf stuffie. D ecember can be a the most wonderful time of the year, and it is...but, it can also be a very melancholy time of year, too. Can you feel both? Yes. I sure do. Many, many moons ago when I was young and so enjoyed all of the magic of the holidays, I never could understand how someone could feel during the "merriest time of year." Now that I'm an adult, and lost both my mother right before Thanksgiving and then one month after, I lost my heart dog, Gibson, nine days before Christmas. For the first time in my life, I understood feeling sad during the merriest time of year. Then, three years ago, I lost my Wolfie, the last of my FiveSibes, in the beginning of December...so now...although I love the holidays and am so blessed to watch the magic in the eyes of. my young grandchildren, my losses are also there. I try to focus on the wonderful memories over all the years, but I have to say, there are moments when those tears ...

💜 Remembering Gibson 💜

Gibson Les Paul of Mystic Mountain "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." ~Helen Keller Today dawned gloomily with the heavens crying crystalized tears of frozen rain. Seems very appropriate for the third anniversary of my beloved Gibson earning his furangel wings. It is surreal that it is now three years. One month after my dear mother passed. I can close my eyes and be transported back to that day...that season...but choose not to. Gibson was not only a big fluffy wooly Siberian Husky boy (tipping scales throughout his life from 98 to 120 back to 98 pounds), but he had heart and soul bigger than the sky. He loved life. He never let Canine Epilepsy keep him from enjoying all that life offered. I am so proud he became, and still is, the face of Canine Epilepsy and the positive and inspirational message of hope and how amazing these dogs are. His courage and zest for life is what I hold dear and celebrate when ...

Dear Gibson: A Letter From Hu-Mom, With Love

Image
Dear Gibson,  A year ago today, you physically left me and your # FiveSibes family to become a furangel. God must have needed a very special Husky because he called you north of the Rainbow Bridge, my sweet Gibson. I love you and miss you every single moment...you are forever in my heart and with your spirit walking by my side, we will continue inspiring others to love an # Epidog , and to help all dogs in need. Enjoy the forever snow, my sweet Gibbie.  ~Love you for always,  Hu-Mom     This is a very special Flashback Friday as it is also the first anniversary of  my dear, sweet, fluffy boy Gibson’s journey to north of The Rainbow Bridge. It’s so surreal to me that a whole year has passed and my boy is no longer physically here by my side. Gibson was my heart dog. My fluffy buddy boy. My spirit guide. My Epi-dog champion. My inspiration. He has truly left a huge polar bear pawprint of his on my heart for eternity. ...

A Chat With Gibson Marks 6-Month Anniversary

A chat with Gibson. ( Video may not play on mobile devices ). Today marks the six-month anniversary of the day that my sweet big wooly boy, Gibson, journeyed North of the Rainbow Bridge. I so miss him. I loved and miss all of our wonderful "conversations," how he would say, "Love You!" and the stomping of his big polar bear paw for emphasis! The above video clip is bittersweet - bitter, of course, because he is no longer physically here, but oh-so-sweet because the memory brings a smile to my face and just floods me with joy as I remember all the wonderful days like this one. With all the challenges he faced being an Epi-dog, he was beautiful, brave, so very silly, and just the happiest Husky! He was, and always will be, my inspiration to push on during the hard times, lay back and enjoy the good times, and always greet each day with a big smile, just like he did. Six months. Half a year. So very hard to believe. “The strangeness of Time. ...

Flashback Friday #31: Puppy Gibson Steals Our Hearts!

Image
This is the sweet, beautiful, fluffy face that stole my heart immediately! This Flashback Friday photo of Gibson was taken when he was just four months old on the day after he came home with us. After a nice bath and tons of kisses, he was a very sleepy wooly Husky pup! He spent the entire first night sleeping on my lap on the living room recliner. He stretched out (he was already a big boy at just four months old - just check out the size of those paws!) across my lap and fell fast asleep...who could have the heart to move him? Not me! He was home, safe and loved from the very first moment I set eyes on him! Troy may have Helen...but, I have Gibson!  And Gibson...he has my heart...   ❤   Forever. *Join us with a Friday stroll down  Memory Lane!* Grab our badge and join in!  Share your blog, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram #FlashbackFriday photo and mention the FiveSibes ™  with a link back to here and leave us comment so we can come v...
